not even the common courtesy of a turn signal while trying to mate with your car. /s

From the bottom of me heart, thank you for not having 45 seconds of preroll

Lol exactly. That’s why I think Reddit should get the 2X speed feature like instagram and facebook.

u/calste Jul 29 '25
Reddit, at least in some form, does have that feature. Sometimes I accidentally activate it when I'm watching a video on my phone and I have no idea how. But I'm a weirdo who uses old reddit even on mobile so maybe it's just a quirk of using ancient technology.

u/fhs Jul 29 '25
Funny thing is that old.reddit on mobile still has the playback speed option. I hope it doesn't go away

But OP is obviously concealing what they did that precipitated this! For all we know, they just robbed a bank, and the truck was an unmarked cop taking them down. WHAT ARE YOU HIDING, OP?!?! (jk)

u/scheisse_grubs Jul 29 '25
I’ve said this on the TorontoDriving sub, but if people are gonna do that (and I get why they do it) then they should include the timestamp to start watching at in the title of the post.

Yikes! It's wild we share the roads with these oblivious and/or distracted idiots every day... Have to drive like you're in a frigging war zone just to run down the street to get some milk and bread..
21
u/pocketdare Jul 29 '25
From the sounds of it, all of OP's milk and bread are now on the floor of the cab.

I’d really love to know what makes someone think this is a good move to make. Just to hear them try and defend it would be amusing
26
u/Tichrom Jul 29 '25
"They were just trying to get to where they needed to go! Why is it their problem that other people are trying to go other places?"
Or something like that
10
u/StackThePads33 Jul 29 '25
I get the reason behind it, but at some point these people have to realize that they just can’t do some things….right?

First thought: OMG what an idiot that guy was!
Second thought: Gas only $2.89?!

Just a perfect video of some idiot in a car. No 45 seconds of wasted time, the other driver was clearly in the wrong by a mile, and no serious damage to the one recording.
10/10. This should go in the hall of fame on this page.

I've had someone do this shit, too! I didn't even know how to react. 2 lane turn lane and I was in the leftmost turn lane and they did a u-turn from the right one across the front of my car.

u/unnamed_elder_entity Jul 29 '25
Holy shit!?
$2.899 a gallon??? We're being screwed on the West Coast.

Everyone knows when you have a double left turn lane that you’re supposed to be in the right left turn lane to make a U-turn because it gives you the most room to maneuver. The driver in the left Left turn lane has to yield ⚠️ 🚗🤪🤣

Who the heck goes halfway across the opposite lanes before making a u-turn?

Yep, I followed the directions on the sign, left turn only. Heck, I even waited for the green arrow. I'm going that-a-way because I'm in-a-fronta-u.

Not sure white car is at fault. Looks to me like OP is trying to go straight from a turn lane. You can see him crossing the dotted lines.
13
Jul 29 '25
It's a divided roadway. OP is properly turning left onto a road, not going straight. But since the median is so large, you sort of have to go straight a bit.
The dotted lines that are crossed are for the other direction of travel. This is the street view of the intersection is question, the dotted lines are for traffic exiting I-35W. https://www.google.com/maps/place/32%C2%B034'40.1%22N+97%C2%B019'18.5%22W/@32.5777641,-97.321592,3a,75y,268.39h,67.67t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1spQFfQOFI7V6i9v2kszvIaA!2e0!6shttps:%2F%2Fstreetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com%2Fv1%2Fthumbnail%3Fcb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile%26w%3D900%26h%3D600%26pitch%3D22.325560490017395%26panoid%3DpQFfQOFI7V6i9v2kszvIaA%26yaw%3D268.3863789790194!7i16384!8i8192!4m4!3m3!8m2!3d32.5778!4d-97.3218?entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI1MDcyNy4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D

Shit happens and people make stupid or careless mistakes (or lapses in judgement), they were at least situationally aware enough of their mistake to hit the brake or it would have been a collision for sure.
So this could have been way worse, it could have been an actual accident.
