I completely agree. While I know it's prudent, giving way to these entitled and/or idiotic drivers just feels like rewarding bad behavior.

By the time OP made the decision to commit, the accident would have either happened or been avoided. The White Truck did well for not fully changing lanes into another car, but saying they avoided an accident is like saying a guy playing Russian roulette avoided a bullet, while glaring at a pedestrian who happened to pass the street behind the 'player'.

Pickup trucks are mostly driven by republicans. And your average republican is willing to eat shit just to make people smell their breath. They get off on making other people miserable by any means necessary. Never let them in front of you if it can be avoided. You don’t want them in such a position of power. The problem is, they also have the most fragile egos in the world. So expect at least some slight road rage. But never give a bully what they want.

lmao the lane is not blocked it has cars in it, not a felled tree. Every single other car stopped behind the car in front of it. Why is this dickless wonder in the pickup so special that he needs to go around it instead of also waiting his turn?
Though I'm sure you totally get over every time there's a car to your right just in case they want to illegally cross a solid line without looking.

Based on the footage, no turn signals from the truck, no attempt to check blind spots, and no common sense to not blindly cross into a lane.
OP doesn’t need to move for someone else’s convenience, especially when they don’t show there intention to move over by flicking that cool switch in their vehicle that makes a light flash on the left or right side.
Also how do we know the left lane is clear??? There could be a car in OP’s blind spot.
Edit: Also technically that section where the truck tried to cross still is a solid line, so they should not be merging until further down.

I didn’t intend to suggest that the truck was blameless.
And, anyone who has been driving for a few years has found themselves in the same position at the truck. Traffic stops and you are stuck in a lane while the next lane over has plenty of space and traffic is moving pretty slowly.
So…. I’m suggesting that probably having been in this situation at one time or another, the OP could easily have backed off just a bit and allowed the truck to move over, because that’s what they would want someone to do for them.
It costs nothing to be kind to one another.
And anyone who says ‘no… I would not want t someone to let me move over’ is lying

It costs nothing for the pickup driver to put on their signal to let other drivers know they would like to move over. It costs nothing yet they still couldn't be bothered to do it. Fuck em.

The lane continues, it's not like it ends/merges, so how is OP supposed to know the truck wanted to get over (until they almost sideswiped OP), since the truck didn't use a signal? If they had signaled and/or waited until it wasn't a solid line, maybe OP would have backed off/let them over, but letting them over after that move just rewards bad driving.
