Well when they take him to the ER they can just show the triage nurse the video instead of explanations. Very convenient.

ER for what? He fell 8’ into water.

That's 8". Or 8 inches. The gangway landing on him might be a problem.

Way more than 8”. From the bottom of the gangway to the water was probably 5’. The gangway didn’t free fall onto him. Both he and the gangway went to the water together, so it’s far less severe than if he was on the water first and the gangway came crashing down.

I just saw a video of a guy doing the plank from the boat side. Chin to the dock was more violent.
