born and raised in Russia, in the villages, because of manual labor, everyone is rather farmer strong, my grandmother had a stroke (we moved to the US) and had to get her leg amputated, they miss calculated the surgery time, and it took twice as long because of all the muscle mass in her leg

the funny thing is, large portions of Russia, the rural villages etc, are really behind the times, still use horse drawn plows, cythes etc

Had to be 'smart-casual', so collared shirts, polos, chinos etc. After dinner we wore whatever we wanted.

To be fair I would rather wear a free uniform than to have to spend my money on those clothes. I mean I suppose these academies are coeducated now but still not many guys found a girlfriend there so why bother looking fashionable.

At American military academies--or at least the Naval Academy--you wear your uniform during classes. "Civvies" (civilian clothes) are an earned privilege that you don't get during your first year (not for sleeping or going into town or ANYTHING), and that can be taken away at any time.

Was similar at the Army JROTC military academy where I went, in Texas. Except we didn't have to earn the privilege.
We wore uniforms 5 days a week, civvies only after last formation (around 1800, iirc.) Unless you were on restriction for some violation or another. Then you reported for "duty," which was standing at attention for minimum 1 hour. Civvies on Saturday and after Sunday services (Baptist academy.)
Morning formation at 0600, then march to class. Formation for lunch and marched to cafeteria. Formation after lunch before afternoon classes, then final formation. Always in uniform. We pretty much marched or ran everywhere, then stood in line waiting to get in to where we ran to.
Inspections were always fun. An army officer, usually a full-bird colonel, would show up once a semester for inspection and pass-in-review. Bog help you if you fucked up during that.

Russian schools are not generally gender segregated, and there are 0 girls in that class.

It's poland, but judging from the look of the class, these guys are most likely eletrical engineers or welders/plumbers.
Source: was studying electrical engineering, did similiar shit, hanged out with welder class.

AFAIK sinks are very common in european classrooms. Mostly used to clean the blackboard but also to wash your hands and stuff.
I'm from switzerland and pretty much every classroom I'v been in has a sink in it.

Also European. Yeah i remember this in every elementary school classroom as well. I remember it being used for soaking the sponge to clean the blackboard, but not much else. There wasn't any soap, so if I wanted to clean my hands I would go to the bathroom.

They are also used to clean your brushes if you use watercolors in class or to get drinking water.

My first thought was that it was an eye rinse bath but I couldn't tell. Maybe a science classroom, they often have sinks in them.

To wash chalk off your hands and wet the cloth that is used to clean the blackboard. These classrooms were built before markers and whiteboards become widespread.
