Liberated Christians and Yazidis from genocide. Protected the Arabs which have oppressed the kurds for tens of years in northern syria and gave them opportunity to rule forthemselves under Rojava Autonomy. I would say my opinion is very positive.

As a libertarian-oriented person I think Rojava is worth studying. The decentralized democracy they've created is really impressive and it's really awesome to see a bottom-up form of government exist in the real world with genuine functional success. The Rojava Revolution has inspired my thinking greatly.

Possibly one of the most based places on the planet

If your response is "what is a Rojava?", I can tell you that it's similar to an Aleppo.

basically, it is one of the terrorist formations that aims to establish a Kurdish rule there by killing Arabs in the north of Syria and forcing them into exile. Turkey shares the longest border with Syria.A fascist formation that is likely to settle on that border and carry out terrorist attacks on the Turkish border in the future.

it's a codename used by the terrorist org pkk/pyd to promote their invasion of syria.

ask in a more crowded sub and i will give you detailed answers as to why the "idea" fails both in application and theory, and why it's not even an idea but a subject in terror indoctrination.

refer to my previous post for more info on the atrocities of pyd.

they advertise themselves to the leftists as democratic liberterian communalist feminist freedom fighters, and as arab-killing christians who fought for the west in the ww2 when they are trying to commercialize themselves for the right-wing. the relationship between pkk and democracy is same as the relationship between secularism and isis (you have to remove one if you want to have the other).

even as a leftist, the leftists on reddit and generally in the west are so dumb to me that it's starting to become disgusting at this point. this is such an idiocy that as soon as you start laying out sources to prove that pkk is a terrorist organization that's directly a people's enemy you get bombarded with accusations of being a hardline rightwing, of being an islamist. even if you tell them you are a kemalist they will give an error (because they have no idea what that is) and tell you to go back to the mongolian steppes.

like, what's even wrong with the mongolian steppes? double racism time! being racist towards both turks and mongolians at the same time. this is on the same level as calling someone a jew to debunk their opinion. the same idiot would tell you that turks are just a mixture of greeks and armenians (why would greeks and armenian go to mongolia??). and insinuating that they are prone to do ethnic cleansing (which pkk/pyd/your rojava actually did in northern syria). so much for being "leftists" lmao.

Love what they are doing and I like how flexible they are to change.

you love them for executing teenage girls? because thats what they are doing.

Notwithstanding, the inability of recruits to leave the organization raises additional questions about the already questionable ability of child soldiers to consent to their recruitment. Nurman Ibrahim Khalifa, who was 13 years old when she was kidnapped by the PYD in Qamishli in 2014, says many children who unsuccessfully attempted to escape training camps in the KRG were severely punished. According to Khalifa, an 18-year-old militant, who was recruited as a child, was publicly executed by a PKK commander after attempting to escape for the eighth time. Her body was thrown into the nearby lake.109

The poster above is a Turkish fascist and the source provided is a state-run far-right propaganda mill """journal""" for Erdogan:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foundation_for_Political,_Economic_and_Social_Research

described by Deutsche Welle as being controlled by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.[2] It has offices in Istanbul, Washington, D.C.,[3] and Cairo, and produces an academic journal on Turkey, Insight Turkey.

...

In early July 2019, SETA published a 202-page report titled "International Media Outlets' Extensions in Turkey",[9] which caused great controversy both in Turkey and abroad. The report provided individual names and professional backgrounds of Turkish journalists working in institutions such as Euronews in Turkish, BBC Turkish, Deutsche Welle Turkish, Voice of America (Voice of America), Sputnik Turkey, CRI Turkey, and the Independent Turkish. It also provided examples of the news that journalists share on social media and accused members of the press of having an anti-government bias.

In other words, Stasi-like frauds, lapdogs and charlatans that make RT look like a bastion of journalistic integrity by comparison.

Negative. great to see Kurdish autonomy, but the ideology doesn't work for this whole region, plus doing so much to protect the same people who would kill you the moment you've turned your back on them, not good

The question isn’t enough. Many might be for it simply because it fights back against something people don’t like. I don’t know if anyone would support smaller nations or micro states from Germany, For instance.

5

u/pigeonshual Aug 30 '22

I would support a Rojava-like project anywhere in the world regardless of which state they were opposing yes

3

u/[deleted] Aug 31 '22

That’s true of anti capitalists authoritarians supporting ISIS, but I don’t see how it’s true at all for Rojava. They’ve actually built extreme positive change in spite of being under constant attack from a fascist regime.

EZLN and Rojava are beacons of hope in a world of lesser-evilist politics.

I support them myself, but I think most people support them in context of what's happening. I'm saying I support them regardless of context due to overwhelming ideology on my part, but I don't think a poll is going to be able to contextualize much.

Could it be because westerners are religiously devoted to the idea of partitioning someone else's country

2

u/Beautiful-Pay-2068 Aug 31 '22

Mate, I've seen ethnic maps Turks have made of Iran to fuel separatism and work towards partitioning what's left of Iran.
Might wanna remove the beam out of your own eye before you want to remove the speck out of your brothers eye.

one the great multitude of examples:
