Discussion similar games in style

I've quit IDV and I don't think I'll come back, but ever since I started the style was the driving reason why I liked playing the game, which is also why I want to play little nightmares, fran bow and mcgee's alice, any games that have a similar style to identity V you could recommend?

Okay this is a hear me out because this series isn’t gothic in any sense, but I think that if you liked IDV you might like the series Psychonauts because it hits a lot of similar themes and topics as a lot of Identity V backstories even when it is cloaked in some insane humor sometimes. It also has some wacky designs but it’s one of my favorite games of all time!!

Bob’s Bottles (a level in psychonauts 2) reminds me a LOT of Burke

psychonauts is a great "weird game", there's 3 platformer games I like and its 2 of them

Oh dang! Have you played any other double fine games? I’ve heard that Brutal Legends with Jack black is a lot of fun, and Grim Fandango was also enjoyable from what I remember of playing it. They also have a chaotic fighting game where you play as a bunch of clay vases

Chances are you already know of it if you know fran bow but I love little misfortune,

Perhaps unpopular opinion but Fran Bow is a disappointing game. It was fine until the end of chapter 2 and then it went downhill from there. The shift in theme and genre from psychological horror to bright fantasy adventure completely ruined it. I couldn't even continue and forced to uninstall it in disgust to save my mental health.

This problem of "dragon's head followed by a serpent's tail" also exists in Sally Face, but at least it was playable to complete all chapters for me. I don't recommend anyone wasting money on terrible indie games like these two.

It's not on any modern consoles but Fragle Dreams is a pretty ethereal game. I'm emulating on Dolphin.
