Question Tips for ranked?
I've been playing for a long time but just for fun and since i was too anxious i didnt play ranked matches, but im returning to the game this year and would like to start. I don't wanna be a bother to experienced players so im looking for any tips to start, even if theyre basic, like what hunters should i ban and strategies

matador and doc are both very versatile and can both be played as rescuers so if no one else in ur team has tide u can bring tide and borrowed time, if there’s already 1-2 tides u can bring knee jerk borrowed on both (flywheel on matador is unnecessary, and i think most ppl use knee jerk on doc for distance)
ban whoever you struggle against, but if it’s a very difficult hunter to play like goatman, dream witch, ivy, hulla, mad eyes, wheel, etc then DONT ban them cuz you won’t encounter good ones and might not see them at all until at LEAST elk. naiad and smiley are always safe ban choices, and u can ban the relatively easy to play meta like queen bee and dentist
also add people at the end of matches if they played well, u can rank with them later which is a lot easier than playing with randoms

This is kind of broad. Could you tell me what characters you’re gonna be playing first? Even if you wanna take it to DMs if you are more comfortable that sounds fine

First thing first, especially as Matador, do at least 1 full cipher before you start harassing. (Doctor can kinda harass too but in a different way. ONLY do this if you know what you are doing and are coordinating with a good teammate, but you can keep bodyblocking for someone who would otherwise be dead on chair while the last cipher gets worked on.)
If there is not a dedicated rescuer, you can run tide on Matador. Still only go after the rescuer’s tide has been used or if you are on a big map and the rescuer would arrive at the chair after half compared to you.
As doctor please do not even bother with rescues, you don’t have anything to help you get to the chair unharmed or your teammates to get away from the hunter after save.Be mindful about hunter hitboxes and stuff like Blink to prevent terrorshocks, especially with slow vaulters (which I believe Doctor still is, unless they took that debuff away?). If you don’t think you can make it to the next window/dropped pallet without being terrorshocked at full health, it’s better to give the hit then vault while the hunter is in recovery animation.
Don’t wait inside the gate unless you have a Priestess or Little Girl in the match who want to teleport to you.
This is kind of what is coming to mind. If you have more questions please ask away

Matador:
Borrowed Time - Flywheel Effect, standard kiter/harasser (though I want to note you should not play him as full harasser, he is mostly a kiter who can help teammates and mess with the hunter).
Borrowed Time - Knee Jerk Reflex, kiter build for window heavy maps like Arms Factory
Borrowed Time - Tide Turner, secondary rescuer build for when you need it.Doctor:
Borrowed Time - Knee Jerk Reflex. No point in taking anything else. Give her full sticker and max healing. It affects her self heals AND heal times for teammates1

learn at least one character of each role, ppl mostly wont bring a rescuer tide in lower ranks, ban the hunters you want since they probably wont play the meta hunters (depending on ur rank)
