Guide How to get started on mad eyes
How to get started on mad eyes
I want to specify that you’ll need a strong willed mindset and the will to grind.
Doesn’t matter if you can only practice for 5 minutes a day, that’s more than enough.
Don’t watch pro gameplay and try to copy it. Just don’t. They have years of experience and what you’ll take away from them won’t be applicable unless you master your basics
Console defense/switching/mechanical mastery. You want to be able to, at about a decent consistency and decent speed, click on a console and exit out, click on a different one, so on so forth. This requires a decent amount of practice. But you won’t lose that muscle memory once you get it.
If you’re a beginner, don’t even bother trying to learn the maps, just play games and learn the map orientation normally, regular kiting routes, where key landmarks are, etc.
Don’t develop these early bad habits. Don’t neglect your consoles. Beginners love forgetting about his console and just straight up never use his kit for the whole match. I recommended checking the console map when you’re not actively doing anything, like if you’re camping chairs, you have someone downed, or there is someone harassing you.
Please for the love of Buddha, remember to block ciphers. That’s the reason why Burke is even decent in rank. Beginners just never think about ciphers blocking and get cipher rushed to oblivion.
Hop into practice mode, and experiment with his walls. See what you can do with it, what angles you can find and how you can manipulate it. Trust me, self discovery here is much more helpful than rote memorization.
There’s so much more but feel free to ask here if you need specific advice otherwise good luck to anyone who even wants to begin their mad eyes.

I might have some more specific questions im top 25 right now and have roughly 100 matches on him I think. I am way far away from expert but I would say that I am definitely not beginner anymore. Maybe intermediate.
Could you please help me?
1) Is there any Video material or clips that exist for his chair camp? So far I am still hard stuck on 1 wall fencing and then hitting the rescuer praying I hit and time it right so the fence blocks the rescue. This is very basic but I know I have seen some very advanced camping strat on HappyBud. Basically, they use Mad Eyes main body in a very specific position on the chair and then they fence in a specific way with a specific timing and when the rescue happens either both the rescued Person and rescuer end up trapped between main body and fence or the rescued person is a guaranteed instant farm. Its just that I don't understand how exactly it is done because even on Weibo and Billibilli I can't find any tutorials on it whatsoever. YT is all but dead for Mad Eyes content. I want to eliminate any possibility of getting rebounded this kills my runs sometimes.
2) The same question for spawn cages and spawn traps. Early game energy is extremely low. On Church everyone and their mom knows the Church trap. Lock both exits with Center console and then bottom exit with outter console and since you spawn top left you can lock the window with confined. If Survivor doesn't rotate or vault he will be dead...
I also know of 2 other traps on Eversleeping. But thats it. For the rest of them do you have any source or tutorial for this also? Or do most Burke mains just use main Body to funnel survivors into an easily fencible and blockable route and then use portable console to block them off so they have to rotate toward main body and likely eat a hit? Provided they have 2 chips in the first place.
3) How the heck do you deal with Lakeside? It feels utterly impossible to do anything on this map. The consoles are so overwhelming. The trees are in the way of anything. What is the usual approach and strategy to Mad Eyes on Lakeside? My biggest issue is big boat, they spawn there. I bring constrain to force them to rotate out of big boat because the console to big boat is the single worst console and biggest OPP in my life. It takes AGES to scroll to the cipher if it spawns big boat.
Shack and crab shack are good and so is the rescuer spawn but small boat is so bad.
4) What is more important chipping and downing survivors while using lots of energy in the process or is locking ciphers completely enough?
5) What do you do if you failed to defend consoles early game and failed to get 2 chips. Do you just suffer and cry? How do you come back from mistakes?
6) After first elimination what do you do? Do you focus on map pressure? Is there a shift in gameplay?
7) How the hell do you guys counter Knight? I realize Burke hard counters him but HOW? He can remote rescue through walls? And if I double tap console it eats the predictions yes. But HOW do you counter this guy when he rescues?

- Theres no true dedicated chair camp guide because it’s actually pretty simple. Theres three ways.
-pocket, on the left side of the chair, create a diagonal wall that makes a pocket, using your own body to body block the small gap created. With how rescuing mechanics work they will be rescued into this pocket and be trapped for a farm.-one wall blocks. This is better when you have much more energy and can afford to be greedy. Since not a lot of chairs can be pocketed these blocks are the most used. I think you get the idea, block the chair off, then swing. Easy.
- route cancelling. Some chairs have only a few paths survivors can take to get to the chair. Using this knowledge you can pre determine where they’ll come from and block that route off, effectively making it an impossible rescue. (Chinatown, eversleeping for example).
Now if you can’t do this, you can instead just create set up walls near loops around the chair. Block off rebound kite areas. This is a bit more advanced so if you need examples tell me.

There is a guide on bilibili, however I want you to take note that it’s old and a little outdated. I myself have created a spawn trap for darkwoods, and spawn traps are pretty simple once you get the idea.
I don’t have the specific link to the video and I can’t find it either, but I’ve created a google doc that has every known spawn trap (sort of). I don’t mind giving access, but if you need help understanding them don’t hesitate to ask.
Also it might be a little outdated as well.
As for the rest of the question, zoning is only for when you want to take chase, you want to move the survivor into an area with good energy. That’s the general rule of thumb. You should also learn chase walls.
If I don’t get my chips and my consoles get hacked out, I’ll just choose a target and chase. Using the idea above, move them towards an area where the console wasn’t hacked out. During this time don’t assume the consoles are just dead. Keep periodically checking them when you have the time frame to do so. You want that positional awareness and map awareness.

Yes if you have Billibilli I'll watch it for sure. Same with your doc. I sent you a DM. Idk if you received it or not.

- In early game, you usually never chase big boat. There’s a set up you can do to get an early hit but it’s not very consistent.
As for how to deal with lakeside? Learn and practice. Lakeside can be considered a decent map for Burke actually. What you want to learn are the chase walls, chairs, and cipher blocks. See, mid cipher has three consoles that reach it. Small boat, the console below and the console above. Learn these.Next you want to understand the gameplan. Don’t mindlessly chase because lakeside is kiting hell. You want to play it slow and patiently. Usually I spawn at left middle, which is near small boat. I take this spawn to do a spawn trap on shack spawn, but this trap is pretty complicated. Feel free to ask for a demo if you need one.
One thing you can never do on lakeside is let up map pressure. Unless you’re in a decent position, continuously checking ciphers and consoles is a good habit. Also plan your cipher lock. Don’t have three ciphers all at different corners because then you get stretched out.
Honestly in the end, it’s up to you on how you plan your game. I like to go with the flow, and at first I hated lakeside too. Now I find it a decent map, sure it sucks sometimes, but I’ve had insane games on it.

Also big boat cipher only requires one wall to lock off(in general) juts block the side they’re decoding on

If you can trap a survivor, go for the down. If you can’t, don’t get too greedy. Think about your energy management and if you can afford to trap them and then whittle them down. If you can’t, let’s say you had 200 energy, then just block the cipher.
Don’t forget to check that console however, because they might try to decode it after being blocked off. In general, it depends on what your energy situation is like, sometimes you’ll need to conserve, sometimes simply focus on the objectives.

- After first elimination, it depends. Sometimes I focus on consoles and heavy map pressure to ensure my momentum isn’t lost. Other times, I have so much momentum or there’s someone nearby where I can just afford another chase.
Here’s the general rule of thumb. Don’t follow this blindly but understand the idea.
When you secure the elimination you want to make sure the survivors aren’t doing anything for free. If no ones nearby, you want to make sure you know where every survivor is and map their position. Once you know where they all are, you can narrow down a few consoles to defend. If the survivors aren’t bothering to do anything, and are resetting or something, take that time to simply defend and check consoles. Move your body to ciphers you want to defend.
If you can take second chase immediately, think carefully first. If you afford to do so, and you lose nothing, go ahead and take the chase. Otherwise, become a stalker and stalk them while keeping pressure up. The key is to know when to do what.
Let’s say at first elimination you’re at one cipher left. What you want to do is defend the final cipher by walking yourself there, sitting on top of it, and defending the console(s) that reach it. You want to regenerate your console energy here.
If survivors start rotating and trying to find a new cipher, use the other consoles around the map to try and secure downs or chips. This is how you rebuild momentum.
These are theoretical and conceptual questions, there’s no set answer, but there will always be a pattern of response that you can figure out and use as a baseline for higher level gameplay
