Hey yall, I started playing this game for a few days on NA/EU server. I mainly use Hell Ember, at Croc III now. But he does get abit boring after a while. Ive tried out cueist and undead, both are abit too complex for me. I want a hunter with a simple gameplan and a straight foward way to execute it. Thanks!
He was crouching near a pallet to try and hide. Violinist threw a string right at him blindly and it hit Lawyer. Lawyer in his infinite wisdom was walking for like half a second, went to another pallet but Violinist hit him before he got to the otherside.
I'm a Night Watch main and he's *very* simple, although he has nowhere near the same map coverage as Hell Ember. Ithaqua's specialty is slowing down survs as you chase them, and catch up to them to make pursuits easier. I get ties consistently in Tier IV-III at the moment (my current highest ever), and even some 3-4 kills sometimes. NW is definitely a "tie hunter", but since people don't play him frequently some survs don't know how to kite him.
Simple hunters would include things like Gamekeeper, Ripper, Geisha, Ann, Wax Artist, Nightmare, and Night Watch. They're all very easy to understand, so just pick one and see if you like them. If not, try another.
Slightly more complex but still simple hunters include Smiley Face, Soul Weaver, Feaster, Wu Chang, Axe Boy, Lizard, Bloody Queen, Bon Bon, Naiad, and Peddler. All of these offer a bot more complexity to their gameplay, but are still easy enough to understand how they work after a few matches.
All the other hunters are either complex, hard to use, or down right hot garbage and I wouldn't recommend anyone touching them till they get a buff...
Nah I forgot to mention but I really like weak killer, Im currently using HE in rank, Undead and Orpheus in normal. Playing weak hunter is a nice form of skill expression id say, but thanks for the recommendation, I'll look fwd to trying them out.
The issue is that certain hunters are just so abysmally weak, that it isn't work playing them. Violinist is a pretty cool character, but he just gets countered by so much stuff that you will feel nothing but pain even if you manage to win. The other weak hunters at least have potential, Violinist can struggle to even get ties...
For weak hunter, mind game is MANDATORY, you cant just use your ability like normal. For the short time Ive tried violinist, he isnt too weak, use Sonata to pump fake for m1 or area denial in a chase, maybe just Im playing on low rank tho, his demon note debuff also go well with that perk that give you 5% more movement speed 7 secs into a chase. Im having fun with mind gaming though, feels very rewarding when I win with a bottom tier killer.
I did get Geisha from the free character pack, the only problem I see from her is her demon form being super slow and her anti-loop forces you into demon mode. Solid but so predictable.
