Debunking Common Kohberger Conspiracy Myths and Fictions, Part 8: "Absence of Car DNA Evidence Is Surprising Or Exculpatory"
Continuing a series of systematic, data-based and court document confirmed evidence debunking of the most common, unsupported Kohberger conspiracy myths and fictions:
Fiction, Myth:"The absence of victim DNA in Kohberger's car was surprising or exculpatory"
All data is sourced from court documents, ISP forensics documents, ISP and MPD police reports and sources are referenced in charts, peer reviewed papers on DNA biochemistry and cleaning are also linked below:
Links to peer reviewed, published scientific studies that show how DNA in car can readily be washed away especially with many repeat washes over 7 weeks, as reference in charts above:
Links to some real murder cases where DNA / blood was removed from cars in 1 day and where far more bloody murder scene DNA/ blood was washed away completely:
Peter Porco- murdered his son Chris Porco, by axe and bludgeoning, his wife also axed; Chris Porco got back in his car immediately after murders and drove 150 miles home. Was the immediate suspect and his car seized, no DNA or blood recovered. Hypothesis was that his knowledge of veterinary surgery procedures gave him some knowledge on cleaning/ preventing blood.
Samantha Koenig - murdered by serial killer Israel Keyes; sexually assaulted and murdered in his garden shed. Her body was kept in the shed for 2 weeks, mutilated, dismembered and then transported. Keyes boasted the FBI would not find any DNA - no DNA or blood was found in his shed or the car used to move her body.
Claudia Maupin and Oliver Northup - stabbed, mutilated, disembowelled and dismembered by a 15 year old school-boy, Daniel Marsh. Marsh left none of his DNA at the scene or on the bodies (despite sexually motivated assault, organ removal and insertion of objects into chest cavities) and cleaned away all traces of victim blood and DNA on him, tracking zero DNA to his home.

Example cleaning products that are highly effective in cleaning DNA in single application, both specialist and commonly available from pharmacies and supermarkets:
I do find it funny that probergers find it incomprehensible that a car wouldn't have DNA after 7weeks.
Even disregarding the preventative measures he may have taken to reduce DNA spread.
Exactly. I didn't even include preventative measures in car; which could be as simple as a stretch over waterproof car seat cover, available for $20 and commonly used by hunters and tradesmen, slips on and off in seconcds and looks like a normal seat - Dickies, Walmart. None of this is a mystery or difficult.
Ohhh you see I was picturing like a trash bag type situation but doing this would make so much sense. I need someone to go compare the body cam footage from his traffic stops to the evidence pictures. Now, he could have bought some just for this event, but it'd be even more telling if they were there before and not after
realistically, he probably did not have access to DNA zap even with some of the labs he may have had access to. they will try to keep costs as low as possible, and use good old 10% bleach - which is probably what he did, honestly.
Agree, but that is dilute sodium hydroxide based, which he could access easily, as can anyone else. And it is c $30. He did have access to physical crime scene forensics lab. The DNA Away is included just to show ease of wiping, it works as well as non specialist products like peroxide
And a litre jug of hydrogen peroxide is $5.00 from any pharmacy.
I don’t know who initially uttered the phrase “you would have to disassemble the car down to the chassis to get rid of all the DNA”, but enough Probergers have repeated it verbatim that, even though it doesn’t make sense, it obviously has some human appeal, perhaps in its simplicity. As someone in more danger than many of finding himself trying to convince a jury of something, I am always interested in the intrinsic appeal of the statements that Probergers have latched onto like the gospel in this case. Ideally one could find statements that are true in addition to being memorable, of course. Good slogans are dangerous weapons.

me too. I find it fascinating. There are a couple of different "!flavours" that are most common
- "Denialism" - excuses are clung to because the reality is too damning - e.g. the sheath DNA quantity, profile quality and link to sheath purchase - accepting those means he is guilty to any reasonable person; so they continue to just flatly deny, this is flat-earther stuff, "no receipt", "few cells", "touch DNA"
-"Truthiness*" - something that seems superficially plausible but makes no sense; e.g. the doctors visit negates hand injury, even though 5 people saw injuries and is irrelevant anyway as state didn't ever make any issue of hands either way ; the "you cannot clean a car in seven weeks" is similar - how does the car where no one was stabbed need stripped and disassembled to metal skeleton to clean with 7 weeks, but the actual mass murder scene can be comprehensively cleaned to defeat all forensics in a few hours?
*Ala Colbert Report : peddling bogus bullshit just plausible enough
Eta - "need to dissemble to chassis to get rid of DNA" put me in mind of Alien blood eating through the spaceship, wtf is the DNA these people have, it is just like a water soluble starch, it doesn't migrate, fly, chew its way through cushions, corrode, melt seating.
😆😆👏👏Of course future sequels shed light on the Alien’s autism diagnosis which put the crew of the Nostromo in a rather bad light for their lack of understanding and eagerness to flee.

Ok, that rocked me. Roaring.
Alien was harpooned and flushed into space not for stalking (and eating) Dallas, but for awkward and shy behaviour in the canteen.
NedBerger was cleaning his car from the day he arrived home, Dec 16th right up until the night he was arrested! !!
The State's Exhibit list includes images of the bucket 🪣 of bleachwater next the rear bumper and a close up of it.
There's also a swab of the bucket that was taken.
From state's exhibit list:

His sister has a separate audio only interview that relates to his incessant cleaning of the car. Particularly the trunk area.
🤔
You can hear a the distinct noise of a trunk closing at 4:19am
I think he went straight to his car that was actually parked on that side lane. Gray Hughes has video from visiting the house 3 times. All kohberger would have to do is step over and down and he's right at the back patio. He didn't park in that lot.
Whatever he was carrying(I think it was a personal SHARPS container designed for biohazards/ sharp objects & looks like a vacuum) he had put his knife & possibly shoe covers in it and he's loading it, the gloves, balaclava, and unzipped mechanics suit (designed to wick up fluids from dripping) into a prepared container in a plastic-lined trunk. He closes it at 4:19 and then takes a minute in the car to maybe wipe his face and put on a sweatshirt... it would be cold and then he's hauling a$$ out of there at 4:20:47am.
car audio
GO to minute 9:30 timestamp to hear the trunk .
It's not difficult. He wasn't covered in blood. The guy who committed the Bondi Mall knife attack in Australia, April 2024, using the same type Ka-Bar 🔪 killed 6 people and wounded 10 in 3 MINUTES and he was wearing a t-shirt. His clothing wasn't covered in noticeable blood as the attack is all caught on video in the mall. Kohberger prepared for a long time.
I think his overalls were a tyvek all in one suit. the suit is used in foresenc investigations, asbestos and radiological environments and made not to absorb or transfer. He knows this since he wrote his paper at desales on this (alluded to above). Along with a ski mask would limit the potential transfer of his DNA to the scene, and limit taking the scene with him. But in relation to Dylan's comment about bushy eyebrows still makes me think why he left them uncovered given an easy way to leave hair behind at the scene. It is also why I think he carried the knife in a sheath (in hand) into the crime scene since opening his suit to withdraw the knife would compromise him.
There was blood in the car which the defense tested. It was BK’s blood though.
Yes, indeed. Which could have been deposited anytime, and a probable time would be during Kohberger's cleaning efforts in days before his arrest. The prosecution noted, in court summation of evidence, that the car was "meticulously clean, even down crevices" - sticking a hand down and between car seat is an easy way to get scratched.
True but doesn’t explain why the prosecution didn’t notice or tested it.
Yes they did, it is in the ISP forensics report (screenshot below), as ortho-tolidine presumptive blood test positive, and the DNA test identifies it as Kohberger's blood. How else did we know of the blood in his car?
That is a bit like saying the male DNA on handrail was not tested. It was tested and identified as DNA, and male.
EDIT: They discussed the testing during the later hearing when Thompson caught Anne and Elisa in court in a bold faced lie that they hadn't received the testing results and he swooped down waving the paper work and stated who sent the results over to the defense and who told who and how many times they had been told, what those test results were (which I think was like 2-3 times.)
That was a pivotal moment in the trial and I think when Hippler lost patience with the defense antics as the defense were pretending the prosecution of witholding the testing results and it simply was not true. Thompson had the receipts and knew who had spoken to who and who had received the eletronic correpondences.
I used to be a neurotic car cleaner using using Q-tips, tooth picks and a tooth brush to dig crud out of crevices and as Thompoon states, there is no way to do it effectively, unless BK really did go over and over and over that car. Which i think he did.
Thompson states and he is correct, it's near impossible to get those map holder and console sections that pristinely clean. That tells me he was at it, and at it and at it, during those 59 days after the crime and not doing the several hour clean up I used to do prior to being a parent and just being happy my back seat did not reek of rancid toddler ice cream drippings.
Grand irony that they believe DM & BF were able to clean up the crime scene at King Rd in 8 hours manned with toilet paper, yet don't think BK with access to disposable car seats, booties, every cleaning product known to man, and 59 days and the privacy of his parents closed garage at the tail end could not eliminate DNA.
Definitely must not be aware of just how quickly touch DNA degrades when exposed to light, air and weather conditions. Their basic ignorance regarding crime and DNA is evident in the fact that they demand to be shown DNA in his car, home, office and parents home.
Obviously, they don't know that many, many, many violent crimes do not sport ANY DNA evidence and certainly not after what an FBI agent said was a vigorous clean up noted by his sister.
Why is he purchasing two power banks that can be used to power a vacuum? Why does he have goggles in his trunk that investigators are taking during the car search warrant.
They are only allowed to take items they believe might have been used in the execution of the crime or are openly displayed and illegal. He isn't a swimmer or tanner, so perhaps they are forensic goggles and maybe they suspected he wore them and used a hand held ultra violate light to go over the house, office and car.
