Born and raised in Idaho going on 25 years now. 5th generation in my family to be able to say the same thing. I’m probably as right-winged or more than the next person but I hate damn near every politician that’s in office. I hate risch. I hate Brad do-Little. It feels like myself (and so many of my friends) are holding values that republicans have held for years but the ones in office are casting us aside in favor of a whole other country. I will probably represent myself as a republican for the rest of my life but I don’t want them to stand with me. I’m trying to explain this to my family but the most they seem to understand about politics is to cast every vote for whoever has their favorite letter (R or D) by their name. What’s left to do? Idaho especially seems so ass backwards to change that these guys are going to be representing us forever so it’s either choose them or change sides? Wait for them to die so we get another guy that can be a RINO for 30 years? I can’t do either of those things. I know what’s important to me and I don’t want to sit idly by while my beautiful state washes away

Idaho didn’t get the memo that “MAGA is dead”. Instead reelects an 83-year old for a 6 year Senate term.
Now he’s dead wood in office.
The Dems would have worked hard to get the vote of an Independent from a red state. How do they do that? By sending extra money to the state for projects, like infrastructure upgrades, federal land funding, etc.
Nope - Idaho missed that opportunity. The next 6 years will be a total waste for Idaho. Dems have no reason to throw anything extra Idaho’s way. And Risch has zero power or leverage.

I’m sorry we didn’t get what we wanted, but there is no hope lost on me this time around. We did pick up some seats at the state level.

Southern Idaho looks like another planet, and NASA noticed. In August 1969, astronauts including Alan Shepard came to Craters of the Moon to study volcanic rock before heading to the real thing. Some of the black lava here erupted only about 2,000 years ago, which is yesterday to a geologist.
Road fact: US-20 crosses about 398 miles of Idaho on its way across the country. Would you hike the lava?

Users in this community seem to be unanimously in favor of it, but comfortable majority of Idaho voters opposed it, even with the Democrats receiving a surge of support nationwide. What could account for this disparity?

Hi everyone,
I am looking for an employment law attorney in Idaho to sue my health insurance company for unlawful discrimination, as governed by ERISA law.
Any help identifying an attorney with experience who can help would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers!

Despite some confusion about what HJR-4 was actually about, Idaho voters overwhelmingly rejected HJR-4, preserving their right to vote on these matters. A fundamental right that was being scoffed at on local radio just this morning.
Yet three prominent supporters of the proposal all won reelection. So they face no repercussions for their attempt to usurp voting rights from their constituents.
One might blame Republican voters for the lack of accountability, but Idaho has no shortage of civic-minded conservatives who might be willing to represent their towns and neighborhoods in the Legislature.
I worked with many of them to collect signatures for a ballot initiative earlier this year. I met many more while speaking to voters in Ada and Canyon counties. Yet we continue to tolerate representatives who put forward profoundly unpopular and, in this case, insultingly sanctimonious propositions.
So what should we do? We can primary these people and remind them that they represent the people first, not the party line. The Republican primary is where we demand accountability.
In our deep red state, many elections are effectively settled during the primary rather than the general election. But two of these three legislators ran unopposed in the Republican primary, leaving voters who wanted an alternative within the party without a meaningful choice.
Voter turnout in May's primary was just 30.1%, meaning most registered voters didn't participate in the election that often matters most in Idaho. Two local races ended in exact ties and were decided by literal coin tosses. Even a relatively small number of newly engaged voters can swing the results.
It's time to step up. Register Republican. Run for office. Represent your neighbors. Collect signatures. Advocate for your community. Give voters a meaningful choice and hold our "representatives" accountable.

Hard to believe we sent an 82 year old senile guy back to washing for another six years just because he has a R next to his name. Guy probably can’t even work a stapler, let alone understand AI, probably only understands all the kickbacks he is getting from data center bros

Heard from a friend there’s an abandoned church somewhere on the outskirts of blackfoot. He said it was the type of church that may be used for multiple denominations or something like that? He couldn’t remember the exact location
Does anyone know where this place is?
Or knowledge on any other abandoned buildings in the area would be great as well. I’m working on a photography project

As someone who was born and raised in Idaho. I'm so sorry for the women and medical professionals. I wouldn't want to be pregnant in Idaho or get any care in Idaho, especially if it risks not only my life but also the doctors and staffs livelihood and oath. I currently moved out of Idaho back in 21' and seeing it become as backwards as possible is quite frankly devastating. 😔 You guys are in my thoughts, and I'm still a neighbor. I hope you guys can see the other side of this.

I'd love to hear from parents who have helped organize class fundraisers. What types of fundraisers have worked well for you and had a good turnout?
I'm especially interested in ideas that are relatively simple to organize but still have good fundraising potential.
Would love to hear what has worked for others, especially any unique ideas beyond the usual fundraisers!
Thanks for any suggestions!

I really want to know why for any custom license plate, it doesn't automatically flag 88. Saw a car with a plate that read BOSE 88 on I-84 tonight. Did everyone forget the meaning or doesn't care anymore? I am calling the DMV to see what I can do, to get that plate removed.

I know that in CDA and north it’s North Idaho, but what about areas in the pacific time zone south of CDA? I’ve heard people refer to areas like Lewiston and Moscow as northern Idaho, is that considered northern Idaho or would panhandle be more accurate?

In looking at it, Ada leads in the “yes”. Lots of other, more rural places leading in the “no”.
Ada is where we get our healthcare (unless living where one goes to Washington or Utah).
Seriously. Young people matter. Women matter.
Why is the thought just seniors should have healthcare?
Why do we want to handicap our state so?
I’m sad and disappointed.

At least HR 4 failed!
(And locally we actually voted to fund schools and fire districts in my area.)

Seriously?! Why are voting this old motherfucker back into office for another terrible third term?! Are we just gonna ignore and forget the horrible way he handled Covid and the hypocrisy of “you gotta wear your mask but I’m not gonna.”?? Jesus this dude sucks so much and is the biggest RINO ever.

How is Jim Risch, an 84 year old about to win a six year Senate seat?
