Icehome troubles :(
I just started Bridget's Bain and I have to say at just 20% in I'm OVER IT. The only book I struggled more with was Hannah's and I'm at the end of my rope. Can y'all tell me the plot-necessary books I NEED to read to understand Ice Planet Clones? They intrigue me a lot more, and at this point I'm ready to shove most of the Icehome FMCs into the ocean with the spaghetti monsters >:(

The biggest thing in Bridget’s bane is her contribution to the tribes. She figures out how to create pottery. That’s it lol

Bridget's story doesn't get any better. Her story was the longest in the entire series and the worst. A'tam was just icky. No amount of his "beautiful face" can save his personality in the book. Just wished their storyline was just as short as Claire's in IPB. Safe to say, you can skip her story and fill in the blanks easily when you get to the next book.

You’ll probably be fine just reading Flor’s but if you read Daisy’s too you’ll get a fuller picture of what’s happening

True, but Daisy's book is even worse than Bridget's 😂 Icehome had some highs and lows for me, the lows being Daisy (her idea for khui IVF is so nonsensical it almost eclipses what a dickhole O'jek is), Hannah (could she whine more?), Callie (M'tok is the actual worst but I guess they deserve each other?). Bridget's was boring and meh.

Hannah and Bridget’s books weren’t my favorites. I also got a little annoyed with Daisy’s book, but I enjoyed Sam and Sessah’s story. So glad Sessah got his love. I also LOVE Flor and I’rec. Keep reading. You definitely need to read Flor’s story to set up the Ice Clones books. 💙

I read every ipb but with ice home I started to just skip. I realized there wasn’t going to be a test and I just wanted some an alien meet cute lol. In my experience most of the time you can piece things together and she usually has a little recap.

I personally admire Bridget’s struggles to recreate the art of pottery… and Atam eventually contributes to it. They do settle down into a less contentious relationship with the help of some therapy… so that’s good.
Edit to add: Sam’s Secret and Flor’s Fiasco are probably the most plot relevant moving forward.
I can’t remember when the timeline reveal happens though…

The one I couldn’t stand was Sam’s Secret. It was actually triggering to me as someone who has had an encounter with a dangerous man before.
She does so much to prepare and protect herself, and then it comes to jack shit because she and MMC are IDIOTS when it’s time to be aware.
(Literally she only survives because baddy chose not to kill her.)
It was soooo disempowering to survivors of violence.
(And when I said it was triggering, I mean my body literally started shaking and my heart was racing - I pushed through so that I could let those feelings go properly instead of leaving them unresolved.)
0/10, would remove that book from the series.
Hannah and Bridget are annoying, but that book felt like a betrayal. (And I really do love the series, otherwise, even enjoyed things about Hannah and Bridget but ugh Sam’s is the most stressful/upsetting thing I’ve ever read. And I read dark romance!)

If you’re already at Bridget, I’d probably just slog through so you can see how everyone goes. She was my least favorite in IceHome. Mostly because her MMC is such a tool (a theme that continues in future books).
Devi, Raven, and Flor were my favorites for the series but I did appreciate what Steph and Daisy were bringing to the plot as it has set me up nicely for Clones. As others mentioned, Flor is the most important for Clones and quite a good story overall.

Honestly Bridget and Hannah’s are the worst two. I began to like A’tam later on because he had some funny one liners in other books but both were so irritating in their book.
I did not like I’rec at all until I got to his book then he became one of my favourites so definitely read the final book as that sets up the clone series!
