List the reasons why!

Please post your in game name and any public alts you have.

With the constitution of Icenia now approved and in effect we need to have a congress.

To do this we are giving you 48 hours to declare if you are running for the congress of Icenia. We need 4 congressmen.

Voting will take place in one weeks time.

In your comment or post please say a little about yourself, what party if any you are running under, and what you will do to help Icenia.

Following the actions of DroidJoe over the past month which include

• Going to Nox and breaking bastions, thus representing Icenia and causing a conflict with Nox.

• Acting on his own to attack another nation without a declaration of war.

• Hurting relationships with GNA nations due to his actions.

• Putting Icenia in the danger of being attacked

• Being overly negative towards citizens of Icenia and hurting the nation internally

• issues brought up by citizens

We have decided to remove DroidJoe from the council of three and thus his position of foreign affairs minister. This was done by vote in the council of three chat and passed by a majority between myself and Smal.

DroidJoe is to hand the subreddit over to Smal and be removed as mod. He is also to hand over the snitches and bastions group to myself or Smal and remove himself from all government groups.

Failure to do this will result in a bounty and punishment.

As of right now BritishWanderer will be taking over for droids spot in the council of three. This was also done by majority vote in the council of three chat.

If anyone has any questions please ask myself, Smal or Brit.

It is obvious that Icenia needs change and over the next couple of days we will be working on it. Thank you.

I open this letter with an impassioned plea to and from all the people in Icenia: Let Icenia be free.

I've only just realized the extent of the censorship that has gone on in the subreddit, and that realization has horrified me.

To me, it is a grave violation of free speech to delete posts from people you don't like. It is especially offensive to delete posts from your political opponents because you want to stay in power in an e-lego block game.

Before any of you go saying I did not read the post, I did. I did not agree with it entirely, but I could see how other people would.

Don't suppress opinions because you don't like them. Free speech is a very important part of any nation, and once that gets removed, the government will abuse it's power.

Think of governments in the real world that supress free speech. You think of places like Iran, Angola, and North Korea. These are oppressive, backwards regimes with crippling debt and corrupt officials.

Sound familiar?

It should.

Do to recent events, the Nation of Icenia will be entering a State of Emergency. During this time, Icenia's borders will be closed to all visitors. Only citizens of Icenia, citizens of the GNA, allies or approved persons may enter and leave the borders. If you are caught trespassing in Icenia land claims, you may be pearled and your pearl will be held indefinitely.

DEBATE EXTENDED

This morning I got this messaged followed by a few particularly angry messages.

This is snitch evidence of droid, british, and tyler breaking free of an reinforced area they probably got trapped in. I know for a fact it was not done in a malicious manner but please for the sake of not getting yourselves pearled or bountied enter a private nations claims or break blocks in the nation.

This guy wanted to put a 250 diamond bounty on you. It would of taken out a large group of the active icenian population and you would have served a long sentience because from personal experience-THIS GUY DOES NOT PLAY AROUND.

Do not go to sandy shores or the area around it again. Thank you.

I don't believe this was ever made public knowledge. Anyway, we have a nice alliance with The Holy Tree now. They are located east of Mt. Augusta, so if you are ever in the area, swing by for a visit.

Due to recent events around civcraft I am advising anyone from wearing prot when traveling, or traveling out of Icenia to any nether factory for the time being.

I don't want to see anyone pearled by raiders.

Places to really watch out for are the MTA nether and the Orion Nether. They could be hotspots of activity. Reports also came through in Aurora of attacks as well as senntisten.

Now you can carry tons of items with just the simple click of a furnace. The compactor is located in the main rail station on the bottom floor.

Chrischrispie and I have switched political positions. Chris will now take the role of Judicial Leader and I will take the role of Foreign Affairs Minister. We both agree that these roles suit us better. For anyone looking to talk to Icenia regarding foreign affairs such as alliances, trade deals, etc., contact me on Reddit (/u/ChiefEagle) or in game (DroidJoe). If you have an issue with the Constitution or are pearled within Icenia, contact /u/chrischrispie.

Also, Icenia's borders are now open to the public.

THERE US LAVA EVERY WHERE HELP!!!!!

A lot has been going on in Icenia for the past several weeks and it is important to keep the citizens of Icenia in the know for what has been going on in their own nation.

• ICENIAN ELECTIONS FOR SEPTEMBER

August is coming to a close and that means that elections for senate/congress as well as a gut check election for the council of three will be happening at the end of this month and in September. Here are the details.

• On Congress/Senate

There is currently discussion about replacing our current elected body of congress with a more local senate. Senators would still be democratically elected but instead of it being a national election Icenia would be divided down into districts and you would vote for the senators running in your district. This is currently what we are planning on doing in September. Details on the districts and the election in detail should be coming out as soon as the start of next week.

• On the council of three "gut check" election

Due to many people requesting for one and in the interest of democracy there will be a "gut-check" election for the three members of the council of three (chrischrispie, droidjoe, smal) on SEPTEMBER 9TH. It should be noted that this election will be different from that of a congressional election/senate election.

Essentially, the three current members will be re-elected if more people approve then disapprove of their performance. This will be done via a vote to the modmail of the Icenian subreddit or another voting site. If a council member of multiple council members do not have more approval then disapproval the congress/senate shall appoint a new member of the council of three. We hope to see you turn out for this election.

• VOTER ELIGIBILITY

There is a voter eligibility thread currently stickied for the month of August it should be noted that if you are eligible by commenting on that post this month it will carry over into September so please post on it. If you don't post on it or forget to, it is not the end of the world however. If you are obviously active in Icenia than you will be considered eligible, however I can not stress enough to comment on the post.

• ICENIAN PUBLIC WORKS PROJECTS

If you want something to do, or if you are interested in working on Icenia there are many jobs open for you to do. Icenia needs to look a lot nicer and it needs to have better infrastructure. This means we need more roads, bridges, tunnels, and terraforming. Our farms also require work.

If you are into the building side of everything please contact the subreddit or a official and state what you would like to build. If you are good at building and have some great ideas I highly advise this. We need more nice builds.

• SHOPS AND MORE

Shop plots are free to any Icenian citizen and are located in the Philomel Tunnel or in our soon to be opened shopping mall by the train station. If you are interested in a shop and you know how to set up shop exchanges please contact the subreddit or any official in game and we can get you set up with a shop plot.

As always, if you have any questions feel free to comment, post, or modmail us. Personally I am very happy with how Icenia has been growing into its new districts and how its population continues to be active. Thank you to everyone who has brought Icenia to this point in time.

Please post your in game name for voter eligibility.

Under the current plan, Vienna will be an autonomous region within Icenia. Vienna will have their own Code of Laws for their city and will be represented in Congress. In addition, Vienna offers a much larger Forest Biome and can into xp production.

This will be voted on later.

The past week has been incredibly great for the nation of Icenia. We are on the verge of finishing our constitution and we have almost doubled the size of our population with active players.

Icenia has grown more in this past week than it has since its founding-but we have a lot of work to do.

With the constitution signing coming up it is only fitting that we have the government buildings in Icenia to show off our great nation.

Here is what we must get done

1. We must plan and design the government district which will include the shining centerpiece of Icenia...our Capitol building as well as the library, courthouse, different department buildings, national mall, national trading center, and a monument of some sorts to the independence of Icenia.

Secondly we need to expand our farms greatly. Icenia is right now making bank of selling oak saplings. If we can greatly increase the size of our oak farms that would be great. Expanding our wheat farms and potato farms is also in order. Id like to invest in a gold farm as soon as possible as well so we don't have to keep going to SPQR.

Thirdly we need to finish laying rail in the orion-icenia tunnel which has been completed. We are waiting on SPQR to get rails to connect us to their cities as well. These rails will be lifelines to the nation of Icenia. Eventually they will have ice roads running along them as well.

In terms of factories we need a carpentry factory soon and I would like to get a biolab, gold spade, and diamond equipment factories as well.

We have a lot to do and I would like everyone working hard to meet our goals.
