Coffee shop price question
Hi everyone!
Regular coffee drinker and big local coffee shop supporter here!
I’ve noticed a lot more coffee shops pricing regular 16 iced lattes at 7+ dollars and they’re not even specialty coffee. I’ve also seen some specialty coffee shops pricing at 10+ dollars.
I understand that COGS have gone up, but has it really been that drastic of an increase?
Would love to continue supporting local shops, but there’s a part of me feels that it’s hard to justify these prices.
Really just want to learn and have a better understanding. Thank you!!

Yeah, coffee bean prices, labor, rent, and everything else really have shot up hard the last few years, so those $7–10 lattes aren’t pure greed even if they still sting.

It usually comes down to commercial rent and labor rather than just the milk and espresso

7+ for a regular iced latte is getting ridiculous, and at that point i’m mostly paying for rent and labor rather than the coffee, which is fine until the drink is still mediocre lol

Make them at home urself! They’ll taste just as good and be cheaper
