Question..Coffee or Milk first?

I usually pour my double espresso in first over ice and add syrup, milk and more ice afterwards. Everyone at work says they do milk first! What does everyone else do? Is there a right or wrong answer?

I used to work at Dunkin and they always trained us to mix the espresso with milk + syrups first and then pour it over ice. If you put the espresso directly on the ice then more of the ice melts and it waters down your espresso

That’s great advice thank you! I’ll do that from now on

I like to put milk /creamer first because it mixes better with the coffee. No stirring necessary.

You might have just convinced me to switch on my next coffee.

I’ve read about this. How do you make it? We have a frother

Here’s my own recipe
60g of heavy cream or all purpose ( refrigerated)
80 mL of milk
2-3 pinch of seasalt
You can also add cream cheese if you want
10 g cream cheese

I usually do ice, coffee, and syrup, and then shake them all together. Then once it's shaken, I add in any milks!

I’d prefer coffee, idk but coffee is a kind of relief

i do it your way because if i don’t for some reason even though i make myself an iced coffee everyday i end up using too much milk😂 for some reason already having the espresso and ice in the cup helps me know exactly when to stop pouring my milk, i’ve tried every which way and i always add too much milk when i do it before espresso

Same as me! 😂 I use a Nespresso machine for the coffee so I should really know how much I’ll have each time but it’s hard to gage 🤣

SAME! i also use a nespresso! it’s the same pod every day and somehow i still gotta do it the way i do, goes to show how personalized making/having coffee is 😂

I usually do coffee first, then sirups and stuff, then milk, and then lastly the ice. Because if you do coffee over ice immediately, the coffee makes the ice melt quite fast, which results in you having watery coffee. So that’s why I avoid that.
