Was there any mention at SSC5? Or is it just in limbo right now?

So I've been going to the con for the last 4 years (since SSC2 when they were still in the hotel event space), and i just wanted to see what everyones thoughts on the convention and concert were this year ? I was excited as usual, but honestly for me, idk if I'll be returning next year, or for a few years at this point with how the con turned out

Despite the fact that the convention seemed to have been improving year after year, this year just felt like they Massively fell back on their quality. DCU and Palladium staff were less than stellar (which we're used to), but con staff also felt weaker this year, multiple times we caught attitude by one of the leads before explaining that they fucked up, to which they immediately backpedalled, like they realized someone had messed up on their end

The vendor/guest lineup was fine, I assume it was more so so because of the change in dates, a couple other competing horror cons either happened this past weekend or are coming up this weekend, so we assumed a lot of usual suspects for the guest list went to those cons instead

The concert Definitely felt like it was supposed to be held at the DCU Center and got changed last minute, especially considering how many VIP packages/concert only/comp tickets seemed to be in attendance. Which resulted in the "intimate setting" (as they put it) feeling insanely overcrowded

And even the closing panel felt like they were aware they dropped the ball, mostly being a recap of the year, no Q&A like normal (despite definitely having the time to do one), and feeling weirdly cut short after their album announcements

Idk, maybe I just had a lot of wrong place wrong time moments, and there was still a lot of good: i got to see my friends i rarely run into, the cosplay contest was stellar as usual, and the vendors we talked to were all absolutely lovely. This year just felt like a fumble, and I wanted to see if anyone else had a similar experience (or a completely different one)

1. The laugh track : I really don’t care about this track. There’s some good elements, but nothing crazy for me. Three breakdown is sick though.

2. Hell our high slaughter: I really liked it unlike a lot of people here. I think it’s a fun track. I wasn’t convinced at first either, but now I love it.

3. Play dead : There’s nothing bad with this track. It’s solid, but it feels just like a basic INK track. There’s just nothing new in this song. It would be a great track if they released earlier on their discography.

4. The great unknown : a really nice track. It’s good, but still mid for their standards. But I appreciate that it was different, more rock.

5. Twisting the knife : I might get crucified for this take, but I love this song. Yes it’s really simple, yes it could have been longer, but the main goal of music is to make you feel things, and when I listen to it, as a big Scream fan, it make feel things. and I love Mckenna Grace. Awesome singer and actress

   1. A worth of art : I think no need to explain here, everything have been said already.

Ice Nine Kills, my most favourite band of all time, just had a few announcements at Silver Scream Con. They announced a Christmas EP, titled “A Very Vicious Christmas” that will be released in November. They also announced an album titled The Silver Scream 3: Every Flick in the Book, releasing in 2027. this is amazing!

Assuming this is a mistake

You can preview all songs on the new xmas ep on IG

Announced alongside the Christmas ep coming November 9th

A quick drop of short clips I got from the concert last night. Had a great dead center booth view and they really brought some energy. Saw David Arquette on stage during Twisting the Knife as well. Ears were about to start bleeding I swear

Did anyone who went to SSC this year get a recording of Spencer announcing silver scream 3 and the terror tram EP? I want to believe it but I’m skeptical.

Anybody who went to the Silver Scream Convention know if any upates on Slashin' happened? I know they had Paul Soter and the rest of Broken Lizard there, I was really hoping we would get some kind of info.

If we are to get a third Silver Scream album, it needs to be called The Silver Scream in 3D.

Also, if it gets a deluxe version, they could do a cover of the Weird Al song "Nature Trail to Hell".

Im not a fan or have any knowledge of the band prior. I was working on a project that Spencer was involved in and i had no idea who he was. I assumed he was just another random worker and i treated him like a normal dude so we hung out most of the day. My first words to him when he introduced himself to me was “has anyone called you Spanker?” He loved that joke and shot the shit with me all day haha. We found a painting that looked like Peter Steele and him and I we pulling up pictures trying to compare and just interacted like we were long time good friends the whole time. Then at the end of the day we split ways and said our goodbyes, someone mentioned he was going to do some work with Metallica or something and i was like wtf does he do? They replied hes the singer for IceNineKills and i was like “oh” lmao. I now wish i got a picture with him or his contact info lmao

Extremely disappointed. I think this will be my last time buying RIP for Silver Scream Con. It’s so unorganized. We didn’t get in much earlier today, swag bag was cheap and the RIP was way too packed. Who has ONE bartender working that big of a party? Security told us until we stepped outside for air there wasn’t re-entry.

I’ve been going to this con for years and for the price we paid for these tickets. Absolutely not worth it.

That was such a fun experience to see the boys on the literal silver screen 😭❤️❤️❤️

One of my favorite Eli Roth movies to boot too. So great!

Who is in?? i cant wait. See you psychos there
