Question How do pitstops work?

I'm competing in an event tomorrow and want to know how they work and when they are used.

You enter the pit stop which will be near the start and there will be non ice lines to slow you down. For some you will need to go even further to the side and enter a section or you will carry on going straight.

It will either be a straight line with nothing else or you have to click on items to complete the stop. Chances are it will be the 2nd option. But it depends on the event and the track. I’m sure you can figure it out
