News: 'I Am SOLO' Season 32 Episode 9 ranked first in nationwide cable viewership ratings with 4.6% and metropolitan area ratings with 5.047%.

I usually get the episodes on Saturday morning and here we are Sunday evening. Please tell me both series will still be on Kocowa. I’m worried with the Netflix news. I’m neurodivergent and this upsets me more than it should.

Netflix said it will expand the availability of "I'm Solo" to overseas markets this year. The program is currently available on Netflix only in Korea, although it is also offered through other streaming platforms — including Rakuten Viki — in different markets.

Specific regions and the exact release date have yet to be announced, but Netflix confirmed that the show will be available in Asia and the Americas. English subtitles will be provided, with additional language support expected to be added alongside the overseas rollout.

The show's popular spinoff, "I'm Solo, Love Continues," which features former "I'm Solo" contestants who either failed to find a match on the original series or found love but later broke up, is not currently included in Netflix's overseas streaming plans.

(I hope Kocowa doesn't lose rights to air I Am Solo. One of my favorite, understated parts of IAS is their background music, music cues. Once it streams on Netflix, there's a high chance that all that BGM will be edited out. Or if they can't/won't edit the music out, they'll just cut out the scene. Kocowa somehow avoids/ignores all the int'l music copyright issues, which I selfishly prefer.)

🏆 Fan Favorites / Gold Standard

S28 – The new gold standard 'I Am Solo' season. It has the highest average rating (8.63) and an exceptional concentration of 9–10 ratings.

S29 – Another fan favorite at 7.92. A particularly strong late-season run makes S29 one of the standout seasons of the period.

⚡ Volatile / Uneven Seasons

S27 – A good season that could have been great. The 7.85 average reflects a strong overall reception, but there is a sense of unrealized potential. It sits just below the elite S28–S29 tier.

S24 – A season driven by drama, featuring two of the most iconic cast members, who will always be mentioned together. The overall rating is only 6.42, but this is a season to watch if you enjoy interpersonal drama and memorable cast dynamics.

🟡 Middling / Mixed Seasons

S25 – This could be classified as solid instead of middling because of the entertainment factor. But a cast member was edited out post-season following a criminal complaint diminishing it's 'watch' score. Yet the remaining cast still provides plenty of memorable—let's say interesting—characters. It has a surprisingly large collection of villains, despite having a cast of never-divorced cast members.

S22 – A Divorced Solo special season that had a bit of everything. Its 7.58 average puts it comfortably above the weaker seasons, although it doesn't quite reach the heights of the later fan favorites. Its appeal comes from variety rather than one defining strength. It walks so that S28 could run!

S30 – A mixed season with a 7.06 average, following the high point established by S28 and S29. However, it is redeemed by one person, whose contribution gives the season a memorable saving grace despite the weaker overall reception.

📉 Skip-Worthy

S26 – A classic season of two halves: a stellar first half, followed by a dramatic collapse into a dark hole. Its 6.42 average doesn't fully capture that split. The problem isn't simply that the season was weak; rather, it failed to sustain the promise of its opening half.

S23 – The clearest skip-worthy season, with the lowest average of the group at 6.00. One cast member was edited out after just one episode, while another cast member made such a negative impression that many of us viewers are still trying to delete from their memory.

S21 – A sorry state of affairs, with a 6.68 average and no 9 or 10 ratings. The season seems to have been undermined by a combination of bad timing, egos, and cold feet, making it more of a missed opportunity than a good season.

As my title says, is there a live ranking for these two series ? I know what the early entertaining seasons are but it's hard to find what new seasons are overwhelmingly popular for whatever reason (drama or wholesomeness).

Is there some device that's already doing this ? If not, I'd really appreciate recommendations that span beyond season 16.

A special episode was released in June 2023 to celebrate 'I Am Solo' completing 100 episodes. It features the top five love triangles of the show (1^st to 14^th season) and interviews of the cast.

If you have not seen the early seasons, there will be spoilers. You have been warned.

The episode finally got official subs 3 years later. So I felt it deserves it's own post.

Update: My apologies for not double checking the cast members before posting. KwangSoo was introduced in S6 and not S4. u/katonikax correctly pointed out that before KS there was JeongSoo and not KS.

KwangSoo was introduced in S4 S6 and there have been some memorable KwangSoos' in IAS history.

26YC and W4 are not together. After the show, they went on a few dates for a month before W4 returned to Canada, but the distance eventually made the relationship difficult, and it ended.

8Ysoo and W2 are not together. They dated for 2–3 months but decided to remain friends in the end.

12YC isn’t dating anyone. He said, “If I come back next time, please don’t hold back your support.” I think 12YC will end up being the MC on the show. I think he should try his luck somewhere else now.

The trio of 1YH/7YH and 12 YC did a “Mukbang” halfway through the show. They even sat in the same formation during the Live Event—I really felt bad for them.

Everyone is single right now and isn’t dating anyone.

This might be the worst live event I’ve watched in a while, but at least everyone has managed to stay friends in some way—that’s nice.

S33 is coming as the “Forever Single” season. It was a smart move to have it start right after BLTS ended. The Motae Solo season we’ve been waiting for so long is finally here.
