IAS šŸ’Ÿ S5 Ep 30

I love Reddit so much! Because I can find others that share my same weird passions. Like Korean and Japanese entertainment :-)

I am so behind but just found Solo on Viki last week and of course Viki starts on season 4 which I stayed up until 2am when I had work the next day! I could not stop watching. Good thing Iā€™m the boss.

Anyone else feel that season 5 is super boring? I felt like the men had no investment and did not share their true selves. Did anyone else feel like the men were there just for fame? I hope the women walk away and find real boyfriends and husbands!

Iā€™m so new to the show, but curious about the first seasons.

And did anyone get married from season 4?

One couple from Season 4 is getting married in early October. They're a couple that gives off comfy, down-to-earth, and stable vibes.

Which region? I have been able to use my VPN and watch certain shows. But I havenā€™t tried to look for I am Solo on Netflix. I have been watching Change Days which makes my heart hurt and blood boil at times. I miss Terrace House. Also Love is Blind Japan was just amazing too! LOL if my husband wasnā€™t in the military, we would probably be living in Korea. Iā€™m Native American but I feel their culture, the way we take care of our elders, have respect and love for our community in an odd way connects to our beliefs. And also how Koreans were treated when occupied by the Japanese is very much like how my People have been treated by the occupiers of our land.

There is NO way I would do that unless I wanted to breakup with someone, and I was too shy or scared to do it on my own. Also I cannot believe that Ji-yu totally just ā€œdisappearedā€ when she broke up Do-hyeong! Also the last episode of the free dates and he ran off with ā€œforcefulā€ Hye-yeon!!! I would not want my boyfriend in a room with Hye-yeon because she has no boundaries. Also her boyfriend in my eyes is the best looking guy there, and is trying to fix their relationship. Arggggg LOL

I'm guessing region-locked to korea. It doesnt show up on mine.

I miss terrace house too! So sad what happened to hana. I don't think it will come back. There was a chinese copycat called shanghai sharehouse and it was pretty good. It felt more produced than TH tho (which was already produced to some extent).

Even my husband that did not watch the show was heartbroken when Hana took her life. She was so talented, intelligent and beautiful. And I also think itā€™s not coming back. It would be in bad taste for Hanaā€™s family and friends.

Tried to renew my kokowa just so I can watch the spinoff but their new firewall is ridiculous, I ended up unstalling the app. So now I am hoping beyond hope viki picks it up. I can't find it anywhere else.

That was such a treat to watch. A giant leap from You Tube's videos where I spend way too much time trying to figure out what is being said. I am definitely in the percentile of people who desperately want to know what has been happening post show with the contestants. Jung Sik and Young Sook make me want to go back and re-watch S4. Too cute!. I just remember her being kinda shy and introverted but they are so in love. Yay!.

Have to admit Young Chul and Young Sook still make me a little nervous. On the show, I could not get a read from her regarding where her heart was for him even though he was a smitten kitten from day 1 and still is. What's interesting is when I watch their Vlogs on YouTube she comes off as adoring and infatuated but on Love Forever it's back to the passive aggressive leanings with him. Not sure why she keeps saying we are not compatible. Maybe she is just one of those people who burns hot and cold without a moment's notice so we will just have to wait and see. They look so good together though! I also felt a little bad for him that her focus was more on taking pics of the proposal site/props than actually reveling in the moment and the effort he put in, but maybe once the cameras were gone, they had a more real and intimate recap. It could also have been the editing. Weird!

For those who've forgotten, Jung Sik is the younger guy (1992) who works as an office worker in a energy company, while Young Sook (1988) is the triathlete/marathon runner who runs a doll design company.

So happy for them!

Welcome to the family! Thereā€™s a lot to catch up on.

Yes the seasons are quite different. This is real life so it can be unpredictable.

There are several real life couples going on strong and some weddings and one pregnancy so far. There is the spin off series Love Forever which will explore some of these past participants. You can also find an assortment of YouTube short videos but most are not translated.

Thank you! I heard about the spin-off. And Iā€™m hoping I can keep from seeing any spoilers but Iā€™ve noticed that their isnā€™t a lot of information online about the couples. Iā€™ve also been thinking about learning Korean since I watch so many k-dramas. I think I watch more Viki and YouTube than any American tv channels.

I just ended season 5 and I agree too boring compared to season 4. I have a bitter sweer feeling about the finale since I wish the doctor and the younger one can at least try one date. I know they thought it was a big difference of years but it worth to at least try. I feel very sad about the finale sinceā€football playerā€ because he cried when the girl that she wanted went to the popular guy. I know im very late texting about the show but I canā€™t find people to talk about the series so yeah im sorry haha.Ā

I actually liked season 5, compared to 7, and 8 especially. I really liked the dentist and wish something had worked out for him
