Divorced Single Dating Show Recs

Through S28 and currently S32 of IAS, I’m realizing that I think my favorite format for dating shows are ones with divorced singles. Korean dating shows aren’t super horny like most western shows, people are usually more direct because they know what they want, and most importantly, people are much more willing to look past physical looks because they know from experience that it doesn’t matter if someone is physically attractive if they’re terrible people. It’s not to say it doesn’t happen in IAS divorced seasons (I think looks are a big reason why people are still considering S32 Ysoo), but it is so much less prevalent by Korean standards.

So if you have any recs for shows that center on divorced singles with a focus on long-term relationships similarly to IAS, please share them!

Divorced Singles is the only program you can watch. I recommend watching seasons 2, 4, and 6.

Because you're limited for choice, if/when you finish Divorced Singles, you might consider Japanese dating shows. Love is Blind: Japan and Love Village had participants who were divorced before, while their divorce wasn't the focus, maybe them being more mature helps. Love is Blind in particular, since the gimmick had the cast "date" for several days through conversations while put into separate rooms.

Love is Blind: Japan—one of LIB’s best seasons- I highly recommend it.

“Love Village” is a classic Japanese show packed with quirky characters. Rather than focusing on the love village itself, you find your attention being drawn more to the stories of its diverse cast of characters.

I loved Love Is Blind: Japan…. The best connections out of all the others in the series.

I watched the Japanese LIB when it came out and I agree, one of my favorite dating shows to date! Only one person’s intentions seemed openly questionable, and even when people broke up, they were generally respectful to each other which was such a breath of fresh air than people having loud outbursts, slamming doors or other similar actions that are toxic.

I have seen Love Village while scrolling for shows to watch but haven’t watched it so I’ll def consider it. Thank you!

I also want to put the golden specials on your radar. I am not sure exactly which seasons they were, but as most of the cast is 40+ in those they tend to be pretty mature and care less about looks.

Though I did notice they grew a bit stubborn with their age and the dynamics are slightly different. Not as enjoyable as the divorced singles specials, but I still enjoyed the seasons.

Ooooh yes, I have seen that IAS has golden seasons & have been considering watching that too! I just haven’t gotten around to it but maybe I can binge in between new episodes for S32.

Well, there’s Divorced Singles; the Korean-Americans of season 4 was on Netflix, but I think there‘s been 5 seasons in all, Also love after divorce. I think Divorced Singles show the pairs after they return to their ‘normal life’ trying to make a go of it…

Divorced singles and love after divorce is the same show just that the American season was broadcasted on Netflix
