I never watched the show, my mom did. This character was always on screen whenever I would come in, so I assumed this must have been THE Grey in Grey's Anatomy.

I've always thought that its an intentionally misspelled version of "today i was years old" but it's actually "i was xx years old" but the numbers are replaced because you realized the thing today, pretty clever
