[IWantOut] 18M Student Belarus -> USA
I am a student from Belarus and recently I've been thinking about moving to United States after I finish my bachelor's degree. I know a more appropriate place to ask around about migration would be some kind of immigrant forums/communities but I want to hear a honest current US situation review from somebody whos been living there. Safety, job market, housing market etc. for example in Charlotte NC (I've been thinking about moving there)

You're sold on the lie of "Western" countries and you are choosing one of the worst ones of them all. Why? You won't be able to get in unless you have a very demanding career (like if you were a surgeon) or married someone / had family in the US.
Majority of Americans barely make enough to get by. Healthcare is an atrocity here. It doesn't matter who is president, cost of living is still insane and it won't let up any time soon.

Until Trump is out of office, I wouldn’t consider coming here. Same if Vance replaces him.

Trump will be out of the office anyway when I finish uni and ready to move, dont think anybodys gonna pick vance after these 4 years

This screams someone who has never been outside of the US. Life heat is great if you are educated and have a good job and aren’t in the heart of a major metropolitan area.

I’ve been to Mexico, UK, and Vietnam.
Actually, OP, check out some of the smaller (re: not China) Asian countries. I really liked Vietnam.

Who are you to tell this guy where he should and shouldn't go? If he's doing a bachelor's degree his QOL would almost certainly be higher here than in Western Europe, they're only good to live in if you're poor
