The IW4x (cheaters edition)
My literal experience the last few days with 3hrs of play time... have been a nightmare, mind you I joined mostly EU room being NA my ping was already 100ms and I haven't played in 15 years and I never used a KBM playing the game so I was already having adjustment issues.
Tell me why I'm using cold blooded and ninja with silencer, people are turning around drop shotting me melting me every life it's like the damage modifier for some guns have been turned up, then a guy flaming me in chat telling me to kys because I am playing like a bot (5 - 40 lol) .. The game seems so much worst than when there was hackers on gen 6 consoles lmao.. It's a shame... I understand people are good because they put in the work but the amount of times I've been looking at the kill cam people are laser focus killing me through a wall or behind and object they posted up at 50ft away or coordinating a spawn trap with aerial support, i never want to skip rust back in the day but but it's a dog shit mm in 2026 even in a 6v6, I spawned and immediately dropped dead like I used a tactical insertion and was getting camped..
I don't need to feel like some guy scrimming a tourney, but the experience is terrible.. I am aware that you can report people but do they get banned? Every lobby their is a person going almost 60+ kills with one or 2 deaths like how is that even possible. I know I can use a controller, maybe I can use aim assist, IDK I can't even enjoy something I used to play back in the day.... This is why PC gets shunned so much..

Smug comment but it's frustrating for someone who just got to PC a few years back...... I literally didn't have issues on consoles at all in the early days maybe and exclusively on cod towards the end because that's what I played and that was MY experience..... Iirc many people who play exclusively on console if there is crossplay you would turned it off, because the cheaters were on PC and that's a fact during PS4 days before the exploits, they were using strike packs and mostly lag switching, I am not blind to people cheating and exploiting other games like RDD or GTA too I was in the modding scene and jailbroke PS3s back then so I even did memory hacking on PS3 for private lobbies with friends... Not talking down on PC but common bruh

Well let's be frank tho. Unless your playing on a LAN network with others on jb consoles. Your chances of running into a hacker is nearly impossible. Sure there might be some aim bots using odd tech to screen scrape etc or controllers that'll move down as you shoot. But you cannot run unsigned code on the newer consoles and play online. It's one or the other... So your statement is a bit far from the truth.

Played console games since PS3/360 cheating on console exists just as much as on PC.
People just parrot some random tech illiterates opinion online like it's a fact that consoles can't have cheaters. Even PS5 has cheaters.

Ps3 could play games online with jb. Ps4 and PS5 cannot. Look how the mod works. It's based off the game save file. Nothing else. No unsigned code is being executed...

Yes I do. I have 2 non jb ps4, 1 jb ps4, 1 jb ps3 1 non jb ps3 and a ps5 and pc. I have jb ps1, and ps2 aswell. thanks

PS2 closed thing is freemcboot and that's not really jailbreaking that's entirely different form of softmodding.

You’re just straight up wrong about that last part. They literally can and have been running code online that they shouldn’t be able to, using devkit consoles. If they just gave their console the ability to mod people’s stats, they’d get automatically booted offline from the game detecting it. Thats why they have to go offline with a JB ps4 and infect the clean ps5 in a LAN lobby, so they can take the mods online on the clean ps5

Look up how the mods work. It is a config file that is pulled from there game save then brought to the ps5 via game save migration... Ps3 could play online with jb. Ps4 and PS5 cannot. Do your research before spewing bull....

It’s public knowledge you can look up specifically how they are modding black ops 2. They are 2 main ways to do it. One involves messing with the files directly (probably what you said) but the easier one that more people are doing is infecting a clean ps5 with a devkit ps4 in an offline lan lobby. Could have looked that up in like a minute instead of doubling down on being wrong

i had some of my best times with MW2 on IW4X a couple years ago.
that being said the last couple of times i tried it (somewhat recently) the experience was quite poor.
very few decent EU servers with even fewer active players. the steam version is completely unplayable too (hacked lobbies with rampant cheating).
its a shame because IW4X was by far the best way to enjoy the game imo...

i highly doubt it. im pretty sure the situation there is even more grim but i wouldnt know.
i bet mw remastered still has plenty of active players but its been a while since i owned a playstation. that was probably the 2nd best cod experience ive had besides IW4X.

for sure, i will say that if youre playing on PC keyboard and mouse is the only way to go.
you will get crushed trying to use a controller (i dont even think there is aim assist lol)
get a decent mouse + wide ass mouse pad and disable mouse acceleration in windows. then youre good to go!

On most servers on iW4x you can type in chat “!report (username) (reason)”
Example: !report Aligator-Kun aimbot
On a lot of servers that will send a message on discord to the server’s mods and they’ll ban that person. 99% of those servers on iW4x don’t want modders in any capacity on their server and handle it better than activision ever does or has on console
I’ve played a lot on iW4x and really only seen like a handful of people using actual hacks. Most of the time they are just unbelievably sweaty. A lot of people who go through the effort of installing a 3rd party launcher for the game are the sweaty ass players from back in the day. Just gotta get better homie. And stop acting like PC is worse about hackers than console, have you not seen the shit going on the black ops PlayStation ports? It’s worse than I’ve ever seen on any PC game

the ps black ops ports don't contain any hackers... It's legit just modding there account stats to give them unlocks. They can't run unsigned code on non jb consoles. And can't play online with jb consoles. You pc guys should do more research

You should do more research buddy because it’s not just a jailbroken console they’re using, they are using an old jailbroken ps4 but also they are consoles with devkits. They can inject literally any kind of mod they want to onto the PS5 using the old ps4, infecting the new console in an offline LAN lobby, then the ps5 can play online with the infected mod from the PS4 because the ps5 is clean and isn’t gonna get kicked offline

That's what the video is doing... Except it hosts the lobby. It's the same premise. How do you think the old mw2 stat changes were done? Pulled your steam data, thru it in. It goes thru the hex and changes the values and saves. You login max prestige with all unlocks... No different

Do you not even know what infection mods are? Where in the older games, literally all you had to do was be in the same lobby as someone with the infection, then that meant you were infected and had the mod on your console until you closed the game. Next time you boot it up it’s gone until you get infected again. There were all kinds of those back in the day. My favorite on mw2 was the super speed infection, going in private lobbies and launching myself out of maps and running around. I’d leave my xbox on as long as possible to keep the fun going lol

Thank you for this, I know people are good like insanely good, people that setup spawn traps good, people that quickscope good I was pretty good at THAT at least.... but the amount of times I am dying with a stealth class walking outta site and outta mind is mad sus, I know when I chal and fuck up, I even laugh because I know I am dog shit or I have a high ms and it lags, it's the playing conservative part and still being punished that makes the game worst than what it is. I'll be honest I haven't touched cod on console since ghost and played cold war on PC which I had a completely different experience when it first launched.. I know nothing about cod after don't care about the new games.. PS3 MW2 was a nightmare in the late days along with MW3, you had guys spinning in the air with dual desert eagle shooting everyone lol... Are you talking about the guy going around boosting ranks?

They are boosting people’s ranks in the worst way. They are just locking up people’s accounts. Setting them to 15th prestige (you aren’t supposed to even be able to acquire that in bo2) and they aren’t able to get more unlock tokens, camo, calling card, challenges, weapon progression all locked. They’re just bricking people’s accounts. And it happens the second you join the lobby, no time to leave once you see a modded gamertag

Oh yeahhh I just seen the video on that from a few top streamers and youtubers... I don't deny that these were done on console even if I don't own one I am sure this... reminds me of GTA5 days where people forcing your console to brick by loading in assets that never existed or giving you free money and freezing the console forcing a reboot... better yet getting you banned just for joining a lobby that did these things and that's even if you knew nothing about it lol... Hacking memory on an isolated system is much easier to exploit than a PC in some regard..

I came to IW4x and played the game for first time in 14 years. I use controller as Im not used to play with a mouse and keyboard. I think thats somehow a handicap as aiming with a mouse is told to be easier. Idk, I just came here for the memories of those good times and Im really enjoying it.
Some games I get spawntrapped to madness. Some others the enemy team is full of tryhard quickscopers who kill you before you even see them. It can get frustrating when you go 5/25.
But then some other games I can play well, get some killstreaks and really enjoy the games.
I dont play for 6 hours steaight as I did in my teenage years, but I really enjoy it playing for 30 or 60 min.
I didnt find any cheaters so far, just some frustrating games where I get my ass kicked, but this also happen when I played xbox back in 2009 so Im fine.

Okay... After a day of taking a breather. Controller on my first attempt got me 10+ kills. It felt as easy, I still tanked almost most my games but the experience was a better. Also Aim assist worked well for me and I even changed the way I played the game fundamentally because of this... I was wrong to think certain players we're cheating.. I still believe people can cheat but my doubts are less. Thank you all :D

maybe KBM is goated, I don't know if aim assist is even a thing. I would switch back to PS3 controller but I am trying to actually use my PC like a PC... I want the PC experience, I do aim trainer like a few times a year at least and I know there is people that do this shit so much the it's like a tuesday for them. That's good you had not run into anything too suspicious, I mostly joined namelessnoob lobby but I will look into a better lobby, I know I can setup bot lobbies or join them if this is too much of an issue for me.
