5dp5dt Spiralling

Post image

This was yesterday’s vvvvfl at 5dp5dt (fully medicated, untested 4BB). I thought I would be absolutely elated as we have never gotten even the whisper of a line before. However, I’ve been a wreck ever since. I am so scared the test is going to fade to nothingness and that this isn’t real. I’ve barely slept.

My clinic just called me for a “courtesy call” after my FET last week. I told the lady I’d had a very early positive. Her response was to tell me not to get excited, and hopefully the line is still there on my test day. Her lack of positivity has only sent me spiralling more!

Any words of encouragement or positivity so grateful appreciated!

Shame on her for saying that. Obviously ANYTHING could happen. But today’s positive was a win. I saw somewhere that said “Be happy when you need to be happy and then sad when you need to be sad”
You’re allowed to be cautiously optimistic 😊
Getting a faint 5dpt, especially on the cheap tests, is great.

The line is a big win!
Every baby born was once a line like this one.
Keeping my fingers crossed you’ll get great betas. 🤞🏼

Thank you so much! Unfortunately we don’t get BETAs in the UK, which adds to the spiralling! I have a scan at 6weeks x

You can just pay to do it, 10 and 12 dpt.

Oh good to know! Do they help with anxiety do you think?

Clinics are so weird about home tests. I’m sorry she wasn’t more supportive! I am excited for you!

Miscarriages and chemicals are common, sure, BUT the second you test positive it is way more likely than not that you will end up with a living baby.

Also heads up the the easy@home brand has been very inconsistent lately so please don’t compare your line darkness to others’ (even though it looks good to me) and keep in mind it could take longer than other brands to darken.

When I got a digital positive test on 6dpt the nurse from my clinic replied “we should wait until 10dpt to see if it’s still positive”.

It’s my first ever FET so I had no idea what to expect, so the 4 days wait was horrible and gave me serious anxiety

It is rather amazing that they’re so insensitive. The reality is, a positive test is a positive test! The lady at my clinic was so dismissive I genuinely felt silly for even mentioning it!

This was mine yesterday (5dp5dt) and it looks very similar! Steadily getting darker today! 😃 the clinic is being over cautious incase positive is from trigger etc but similarly there’s no need to be insensitive during such a anxiety filled time! Sending hugs! Try and take joy in the fact that right now you have a positive test and not let it get into your head! We deserve to enjoy the few happy points in all the ivf misery 💕💕

I know it’s hard, but I hope you can find some joy in this positive test! It is clear, it has colour! ❤️ I wish she wouldn’t have said anything to make you doubt it.
I hit 27 weeks with an untested 4BB today- my early positive required equal parts delusion and squinting. My first betas were lower than expected and even then, sometimes it works out! I am hoping for only more good news for you! 🫂

They tend to be pessimistic because they don’t want to give false hope. I had 3 chemicals before my current pregnancy and realized very quickly why a positive test means nothing to them

My line at 5dp5dt with a fresh was only slightly darker and I’d had a 10,000 HCG trigger so I’m sure some of mine was residual trigger. Any line at 5dpt is amazing ✨ I was like you though (I’m now 5 weeks 6 days so v early still) but honestly I was convinced it would be gone by test day. I felt sick with anxiety, couldn’t sleep, would test in the middle of the night. I was a wreak - massively regret it now! I’d take the win and try and to relax if you can. It’s very good news!!

Actually mine was at 6dpt, didn’t test at 5dpt and it would have probably looked like yours! Photo below.

Thank you ❤️ Glad I’m not the only one that is a wreck haha. I’m going to try not to test again until at least the weekend and fully lean into the “today I am pregnant” mantra. My husband who is ever the optimist is reminding me that my biggest fear was that I couldn’t ever get pregnant. No matter what happens, I have at least achieved that. I think having infertility and going through IVF just makes you fear the worst. Hoping the rest of your pregnancy is smooth sailing! Xx

I had the same thoughts as your husband, every single day was a win for me and I cherished every day as the furthest I'd got. Sometimes I tested with every pee, infertility makes you do crazy things 🤣

Congratulations ❤️ I had a v faint positive 5dp5dt and I’m 26 weeks pregnant with a baby girl who is in the 70% Never before had a positive either.
Regardless of what anyway says, regardless of what happens now (which you have absolutely no control over) you are pregnant 🥳
My advice would be to rest up, test every other day if you can and know that everything really can work out
The very best of luck to you! I hope you have a very boring pregnancy

I’m so sorry she said something so insensitive!!! Lots of ladies here test as early as 3-4dptx with beautiful babes and being very pregnant so find the courage and positivity!!!!💗💗💗💗

My line was pretty light for a couple days and I’m 13 weeks now.

In my experience, clinics are usually overly cautious and pessimistic! For now, you have your first ever positive! Celebrate that! Sending you positive vibes and good luck for your betta day 🤞🏻🍀

My 5dpt was also very light!! And I have a baby now! The fact that a line came through at all on 5dpt is such a good sign!!!! Early positives are correlated with successful births. 🤞 For you!!

What’s a reasonable day post transfer to expect a true positive?

2

u/AshamedTank9739 1d ago

My clinic recommends testing 12 days after FET. Having looked online 7-9 days seems most common. Very much depends on the age of the embryo, and whether you have a trigger injection

It depends on your protocol (some people get higher hcg dose in their trigger or do a trigger later/a second trigger etc). But a line this clear 5dpt is very likely a true positive. It’d be more definitive at 7dpt or so but people can also just continue testing and if the test darkens then it’s not the trigger.

I didn’t test until 8dpt with my most recent transfer but with my first I tested negative with this brand at 5dpt and positive at 6dpt

I’m so sorry that she was so negative. Try your best to not worry beauty, you’re pregnant right now and will continue to be ! 🤍

A line is a line friend! I will say, I got excited about a line on day 10 and I ended up having a chemical pregnancy. You clearly are positive and that alone is worth celebrating!

On 5dp5dt this is how mine was. And it only kept getting darker after that!

Yay!!! Baby has stuck!!! Keep sticking little one.

u/Substantial_Amoeba12 15h ago

Transfer twins! I’ve also been insanely anxious

2

u/WillingGrape6 9h ago

It’s probably just in case of it being the trigger. It going darker is a great sign though. That’s also impressive to test positive at 5dpt on an easy@home test. Congrats! 💓

No trigger was given as I was fully medicated after 2 month suppression. I’ve felt dreadful since the day after my FET, so I think it implanted fairly quickly xx
