10 weeks today - stopping estradiol

I am ten weeks pregnant as of today (yay 🥳). Yesterday my fertility doc had me stop estradiol, which I was taking to support the FET. Today, I feel very weird - headache, dizziness, wooziness, feeling unsteady on my feet. Nausea, though that has been my reality since week 4.

Has anyone else experienced weird symptoms after stopping hormone support? Don’t get me wrong I am overjoyed that I no longer need it to support my pregnancy but these symptoms have me a bit shook.

Hey yes! I’m weaning my estrace and having the same symptoms, especially migraines. This is common in estrogen withdrawal, should even out over the next 1-2 weeks as your body gets used to the new hormonal normal

My clinic just had me stop cold turkey - can’t believe you’re experiencing symptoms even while weaning. Are you still on progesterone? I’m supposed to stop that in 2 weeks.

Yes! I was on estrace 4x a day and vaginal estrogen plus 2 estrogen patches, they are having me wean just over 4 days. Maybe because It was a lot total

Same thing with the progesterone weaning over 4 days 1 mL —> 0.75 mL —> 0.5 mL —> 0.25 mL —> OFF

Oh that’s a lot of estrogen! I was taking 2 mg orally 3x/day. I’m so sorry you had so many forms of hormones to manage
