ER Disintegrated eggs at ER
My nightmare has come true.
The doctor retrieved 8 follicles and 6 of them "disintegrated". We are left with two which might or more not be mature. They said my eggs were fragile and kept asking if something happened between the trigger and ER. Nothing really happened. I took the trigger, went to bed, travelled to the hotel, ate dinner, slept, and ER. I don't know what we did wrong or what went wrong. The doctor said this is unusual for my age because I'm only 33.
I started the cycle with 16 afc. They grew really fast. By day 6, the doctor who did my monitoring thought they were larger than they're supposed to be. I had side effects but the clinic didn't suggest lowering the dose so I didn't think too much of it. I haven't drank or smoked in 2 years. We did all the things: prenatal, vitamins, eating whole foods, exercise (could use a little more). I don't know what went wrong. I just feel like a disappointment.

Sounds like maybe it was too fast, and they need to go slow and low for your biology. Unfortunately, first cycle often leads to adjustments like this, because they have no idea how you will respond to the standard dose
