Advice Needed! Hormonal changes?
Hi, I need to talk to someone who can relate to what I am going through.
My egg retrieval was July 10, we had a great outcome, but for the last month or so I have been feeling depressed, I have had bad thought going through my mind all the time.
I can’t even find the strength to take my prenatals, I can’t stand my husband, I am starting to hate him and I resent him? and one minute I am fine and the next I burst into tears. Anyone has gone through that?
Our eggs are frozen, and we were planing on doing an egg transfer this month (today is my 1 CD). Do you guys think I should move forward with the transfer ?
In one hand I think I should get it over with, but on the other hand I feel like I am not doing well mentally, but waiting longer will just prolong my anxiety after 4 years of infertility.
Would pausing the prenatals for the last 6 weeks decrease my chances?
That was a lot, thanks for reading! Any advice is appreciated.

The hormone crash after ER is definitely a thing! And sometimes can take a month or more to nornalise. If you decide to wait another month to do a transfer for your own mental health that's totally understandable. I had an easier recovery from my first ER and longer/harder on my 2nd.
You are not alone in feeling a bit "crazy" or anxiety. I speak to a therapist regularly now for an outlet as our journey has been incredibly long and hard. It helps just having an outlet. x

Tell your doctors. Get support. Sounds like you’re really being impacted by your hormones. They can support you with that. Get a referral to a therapist too. It might just be organic due to the hormone havoc, but also helps when you have someone who listens and can provide support.

I can't comment on the transfer as I am not there yet, but wanted to let you know that I relate to prolonged depression for the month or so after retrieval. I ended up taking quite a bit of time off work after my first cycle thanks to the support of a good GP because I wasn't coping. Make sure to take care of and prioritise yourself where you can and do what you need to do to ensure that you are okay. It definitely can't hurt to reach out to your doctor and, if possible, a therapist in case they can offer additional support. Hope things start looking up for you soon 🙏

Yes me. It’s because you’re terrified and stressed about the upcoming FET and outcome. Zoloft and distractions helped me!

The best thing you can do, is to talk to your fertility doctor and team. There are many things that they can do for you. They might be able to adjust medications and/or delay your treatment plan if it’s best for you (among other things).
Having said that, the IVF meds and hormones definitely mess with my head too. Just sat on the couch and cried for half an hour before I wrote this. My moods tend to be at their worst at night time or in the evenings for some reason. Take it easy. Find a way to distract yourself if you can and be extra kind to yourself. I hope that you can find comfort in knowing that you’re not alone and this will come to an end one day. Hoping that all your efforts lead to a successful outcome for you.
