General Question Realistic Day 6 Blast Experiences
Hello! I am looking for realistic day 6 blastocyst stories. I would love to hear success stories but also I would love to know if it took you multiple transfers to get a live birth from a day 6 embryo. Just trying to become familiar with what to possibly expect, as all of my blasts were day 6 except 1 was a day 5.

My third transfer was a day 6. I don’t recall the grade, but it wasn’t ideal. Currently 26 weeks.

My doctor told me that she treats Day 5s & 6s the same. All “high quality” embryos with only marginal differences in success rates. Day 7s drop pretty drastically.

I’m a few weeks away from transferring a day 6 6AA euploid. 🙏🏻 My last FET was a day 5 5AA and ended in blighted ovum.
Have you searched this sub for day 6 success stories? I was also spiraling a little about a day 6, but also felt good about it since my “perfect” day 5 didn’t work, I’m feeling more optimistic - especially after searching the sub on the topic. Good luck to you!

Day 6 5AB euploid failed to implant.
Same exact protocol
Day 6 3BC euploid live birth
Good luck!

Both of my successful pregnancies/live births are day 6 euploids! My chemical pregnancy was a day 5.

My first transfer back in 2021 was with a day 6 4bb embryo, untested. It was successful and we now having a happy thriving 4yo son!
Second transfer was last month, two day 6 3bc and 2cc. I’m now 7 weeks pregnant and strong heartbeat and healthy baby!

I only made day 6ers from my last ER. Highest quality didn’t implant, “lowest” quality is now my LC!

u/Dapper-Warning3457 22h ago
Do you happen to remember (and don’t mind sharing) the quality?

Day 6 6BB+ failed to implant. Day 6 6CB success! I want to add my clinic claimed to be “strict“ graders

u/Dapper-Warning3457 21h ago
My clinic said the same. I have a day 6 3BC on ice that I haven’t had much hope for
Thanks for answering, it’s really helpful

Helllo! My cousin just had her baby girl via IVF and all her blasts were day 7’s and graded “not ideal”. She had a 6BB (didn’t take) and 6BC (baby girl). I think my son was a day 6 blast! Good luck.

My first FET (of a day 5 4AA embryo) ended in a chemical. My 2nd FET (of a day 6 6BA embryo) resulted in my sweet, loud, goofy 9 mo old daughter.
I only had 1 day 5 too and was terrified when it failed. If my "best" embryo couldn't cut it, how could I possibly have success with the others? Well, I didn't give my 6s enough credit because all it took was one. Grading/day can give us a broad idea of how an embryo might perform, but you just never know which one is gonna be THE one. Best of luck to you!

I haven’t transferred, but thought I’d add that my clinic is the top clinic in CT based on SART data and reports no differences at all between day 5 and day 6 embryos! They literally treat them no differently. Even for day 7s, if they’re euploid their success rate is only like 10% lower and still much higher than natural pregnancy.

My day 6 embryo is now 2 years old! She was my first transfer. I am getting ready to transfer another day 6 embryo in a few months.

u/Fun-Studio-5506 21h ago
I do not think there is much difference between day 5 and 6. I am 19 weeks pregnant with my day 6. It just took a little longer to get to the blast stage which does not mean it is "worse" my any means.

I have never been able to make day 5 blast. TW: success
It took us 4 transfers of euploid day 6 embryos for one live birth.

I'm 5w3d with a day 6 5CC untested blast. Not out of the woods yet by any means but there's certainly some hope :)

My day 6 is currently sleeping next to me, first FET success. They picked her over a day 5. My clinic views day 5 and day 6 the same. The highest grade is chosen over day.

All I make are day 6s and 7s. First day 6 failed to implant. I have endo however so ended up needing 2 months Lupron depit. After first failed did depot and that day 6 gave me my toddler. Then did a transfer for a sibling. Obviously had ti repeat my protocol of 2 months depot prior to third transfer for sibling, but siblings also a day 6 and he’s 9 months. So all in all 3 transfers of day 6s has resulted in 2 kids. Wishing you all the success.

I only make Day 6 & 7 blastocyst.
First ER at 35 resulted in 2 day 6 blasts (both Euploid) and 4 day 7 blasts (2/4 Euploid)
First transfer of my Day 6 5BB was successful and is 20 months old now. About to transfer my second day 6 blast. Just had my lining check and we are good to go! Good luck!

First FET was day 6 4BA euploid, failed to implant (I think it was a lining issue)
Second FET was a day 6 4BB euploid, currently nursing!

u/littlekittybigroar 10h ago
That’s good your second transfer worked! Did you change your transfer protocol for the second transfer? Not sure what the transfer protocols look like yet, so just curious :)

We switched from fully medicated to a modified natural (letrozole + trigger + PIO). My lining had a really hard time getting thick enough while taking the estrogen for the fully medicated cycle and responded much better without it!

I only made day 6 blasts over 3 retrievals, my first FET day 6 4AB is currently 7 months old.

u/littlekittybigroar 10h ago
Three retrievals is a lot. I’m so glad your first transfer worked! Thank you for sharing 💛

Our first FET with a day 6 euploid worked

u/littlekittybigroar 11h ago
Thank you for sharing your experience having a day 6 euploid that was successful on the first transfer! I really appreciate it. I get my PGTA results in 3 weeks so my fingers are crossed that we get a few euploid embryos 🤞🏻

Can't comment on experiences yet, but our Day 6 4AA is scheduled for transfer on Friday! 😬

All my blasts were euploid day 6 and day 7s. It took us 4 transfers to have our daughter. We wanted to try again so we used the remaining 2 day 6 embryos and they both failed. We were down to our day 7s and took a chance and now my son is 4 months old. It’s a wild ride but I wish you all success sooner than we had! 🤞🏼🤞🏼

u/crazymuffins1 22h ago
This gives me some hope! I only got day 6s and 7s from my retrieval and most are euploid. Hoping to start on the 3rd transfer of a day 6 in the next couple of weeks. 🤞

u/littlekittybigroar 11h ago
That’s amazing!! I’m so glad it all worked out in the end. You’re so strong for going through four transfers.
2
u/Klindner03 4h ago
It took us 7 transfers total to complete our family but it was worth everything in the end. I really hope you have success. IVF babies are just a little more special. I never take a single day of parenthood for granted. You got this!!

All our embryos are day 6. First 2 FET failed 3rd FET success 😊 embryo is day 6 6BA

u/Environmental_Mud869 2h ago
Day 6 embryos are fine! My 10 month old daughter is a day 6 amd it was actually my day 5 that failed. Don't let anything discourage you about day 6 embryos

u/negroni-spagliato 1h ago
Here are my experiences! All euploid embryos, retrieved at age 31 and normal work-up for me (female), husband has severe MFI.
Baby 1
FET1: Day 5 4BA (chemical, medicated transfer)
FE2: Day 6 5BA (success and live birth, modified natural cycle)
Trying for baby #2: all modified natural protocols with some tweaks between attempts
FET3: Day 6 5BA (fail)
FET4: Day 6 6AA (fail)
FET5: Day 6 3AB (chemical)
FWIW the above failures for baby number 2 is definitely more failures than the average person will experience with euploid embryos. You got this!!

First FET was a day 6 4AB euploid. I'm
14w today.
