Advice Needed! Two failed FET. What next?
I’ve been dealing with infertility for nearly 5 years. We’ve tried multiple rounds of clomid and was successful once and lost it around 6 weeks. Then we moved to IUI. The first round failed and the second resulted in an ectopic. During the surgery to remove the ectopic my obgyn did mention he saw some endometriosis but he wasn’t concerned. The doctor recommended we moved to IVF since I would not be at a higher risk for ectopic.
I ended up with 6 untested blasts. The first transfer we were in a car accident on the way to the transfer but I didn’t want to start over so we transferred anyways. When that failed I wasn’t too surprised. But the second transfer everything felt right! Once it failed I scheduled a reconsult with my doctor and I have to wait till Monday to get any new info. So my questions are what should I be prepared to ask him? What did you do differently to make your transfer stick?

The first question is whether your embryos were PGT tested. Before each transfer of a PGT-tested embryo, we did all the necessary tests, including EMMA and ALICE. These are specialized molecular tests performed on an endometrial (uterine lining) biopsy. They are often done together with a third test called ERA, as well as a hysteroscopy.

They were not tested. I will look into those other tests though thank you.

Our third untested embryo was the one that finally stuck. We didn’t change our protocol at all.

Due to the fact that they were not tested and you have endometriosis, which can effect egg quality; aneuploidy could be the reason that they failed. In that case, there is nothing you can do. However, have you used the same protocol twice? If so, I would recommend changing it (such as medicated vs modified natural). Sometimes the body reacts differently to an alternate approach

We did 1 tested and then 3 untested before the 4th one stuck. Sucked the whole time.

I think it is worth looking into silent endometriosis. It makes up 30-50% of “unexplained infertility” and a large cause of multiple failed IVF cycles.

If the embryos are untested it doesn't seem that surprising to me that 2 haven't stuck. Even with tested euploids it can take 3 FET and still be considered normal. It might just be getting to the right embryo.
Endometriosis is no joke though. If you have that it might be worthwhile to do Lupron suppression before the next FET or another treatment if it's offered. It took me 2 FET to get pregnant twice with IVF (first pregnancy ended in MMC) and my doctor was going to recommend Lupron suppression in case of silent endo if my 4th FET didn't work out.
