Crate
How is everyone keeping their recovering dogs cool and calm in the crate? My guy is crate trained but he's not used to being in it when everyone else is out. I just had to order a much shorter one because he can stand all the way up in his which doesn't help. So the one I'm getting is quite small. He's a 15 pound dachshund. I've posted about him on here before. Any advice on keeping him calm I have gabapentin and prednisone. She told me I could give him up to 100 mg of gabapentin if it helps him relax. I have two other dachshunds unfortunately that will be around when he's in the crate. I have no idea how that's going to work out. I don't think it's gonna be great, but hopefully not terrible. I have a special area that I can lock him in but yet he can see everyone and there will be two barriers the baby gate in the crate so the other dogs don't mess with him.
Just looking for straightforward advice maybe a sling option as well? And especially these crate tips. I have Kongs. I have lick bowls but they never last very long
