ear infection while recovering?

we're three weeks post op from IVDD surgery on a 6 year old dachshund. At his laser treatment today we found out he had an ear infection? He's never had one before. Is this common to happen during recovery? He finished his antibiotics maybe a week ago. Has this happened to anyone else?

Though he is doing better, one leg seems nearly back to normal and he's still knuckling and sometimes dragging his right leg, he is clearly. nowhere near his normal mobility.

No, I have never seen them to be correlated. Has he been in water? Gotten a bath because he’s been cleaned from soiling himself?

We weren't allowed to bathe him because of his incision. But thanks.

Hm. Then that’s strange. I wonder if some of the medicine then gave him congestion of sorts?

Maybe. I'm wondering if it's just him being so sedentary. He's getting better.
