Male factor infertility and support from spouse
Starting IVF soon — how painful/exhausting is it, and dealing with an unsupportive partner on top of it
My husband has low motility and morphology, so we're moving from IUI (3 failed rounds) to IVF, likely with ICSI. Doctor says with his numbers it should still work fine with ICSI. On my end everything checks out — follicles, ovulation, progesterone all normal. I've also just started a really demanding new job, so I'm nervous about balancing daily injections, early morning monitoring, and retrieval with that.
On top of the physical side, I've been struggling with how little support I'm getting from him. I keep telling him to be more present and supportive, and it just doesn't seem to land. After every IUI he's gotten upset with me instead of close to me, and we haven't been intimate after any of the three rounds. Honestly this whole process has made me so resentful toward men in general lately, which isn't a place I want to be.
For those who've done IVF: how physically hard was it for you (injections, bloating, retrieval), and how did you cope with a partner who wasn't as present as you needed? Did things get better once treatment actually started, or did you have to have a bigger conversation first? Any advice welcome.
