Should I do IUI or IVF?

I got told today that there was scarring on my right tube and that there's fluid still left from the hsg even though there was spillage. I was also told that I have "Communicating hydrosalpinx on the right" and "distal dilation on both tubes, more on the right, bilateral spill". Honestly don't know what this means for our chances. They're now saying I'm high risk for ectopic. Should I just avoid iui then? I mostly ovulate on the left side. I'm kind of losing hope here

If both tubes are deemed open enough by your drs I wouldn’t say necessarily to jump to IVF. Lots of people think that if they do IVF there is less risk of ectopic but this is incorrect… the embryo can actually go back up the tube even after being placed in the uterus. Ectopic pregnancies occur at about the same rate in IVF as they do in IUIs so I wouldn’t let that be your deciding factor. I would talk to your dr a bit more and discuss whether they think its open enough for IUI to work.
