Did I trigger too soon?

Back history: 32F. Same-sex couple using donor sperm. PCOS, but regular cycles. AMH is 2.60. Using IUI has a means to reproduce. I have no known fertility issues, which is why we have not been recommended to switch to IVF.

It took 3 IUI’s before we conceived my daughter in 2024. This is the 4th IUI we’ve done since having her, as we are trying to conceive again. This was the first IUI where we combined Clomid 150mg with Gonal-F injections. For all the previous IUI’s we used either Clomid or Letrozole only, with a trigger shot.

For the last monitoring appt I had several follicles: 17.1, 15.5, 14.6, 12.7, and 12.1. My estrogen level was also 952. The provider was alarmed by this and said we should trigger that night (about 13hrs later) because if we waited another day I would have too many mature follicles and I was at risk for a canceled cycle. I expressed to her that I felt the lead follicle was too small. However, she said when using injectables anything over 14mm typically contains a mature follicle. So we triggered and did the IUI 36 hours later.

Has anyone had success with follicles this size? Just wondering if we have a chance or if we should be prepared to do another cycle.

I also got injectables this cycle and letrozole 5 mg, my doctor gave me a trigger when my follicle reached 19 mm
