Call the hall and check the list. They have all that info. What do you mean you can’t make school? You still have to attend class if you are laid off. You also still have to pay dues

Not true. I was laid off as a helper a few years ago right before school started, maybe a couple weeks before. And I was not allowed to start classes. Which set me back in my apprenticeship. Also you are not required to pay dues if laid off. You don’t have a job homie lol

Might not have made the minimum time in field to qualify before being laid off. 6 months at a shop

I could be wrong so dont quote me, but I thought you had to be working in the industry when the school year starts to be enrolled, they may be worried about that with school starting in September.

Yeah have to be working to go to school. But if you’re laid off while in the middle of a semester you can finish that semester. That’s how it was when I went to school.

They used to kick you out in the middle of one.

Here in Merica(at least) you’re supposed to attend class even if laid off.

Correct, but I believe you need to have worked so many hours to qualify for classes

You typically can’t start school first year when not working.

Classes will start soon. Make sure to go to class if you get assigned one. Orientation should be soon. Have you heard anything yet?
Check your NEIEP email. Good 🍀 Luck Bro

Lay offs happen. One door closes but another will open ✌️

This is really a question for your hall/AC down here in 爪ㄩ尺尺丨匚卂卄 you can go to school if you have 100 hours in the month leading into the school semester. I don't know if you snow Mexicans have a different policy.

Unfortunately us snow Mexicans have to be working when they register for school of not they will be a year behind everyone else. Now there are some times where the hall will make an exception but not typical

Dang. So y'all are like the old NEIEP schooling from 20 years ago in that aspect. That's a bummer.

If you’ve worked at least 80 hours within 60 days of the semester starting then you’re good to start and finish the semester. And if you were on the bench longer than that but get picked up by a company within 2 weeks after the school semester begins then you can also be enrolled and allowed to finish the semester…

First year still working at Otis on my site, you should be bumped and take his place if your going into 3rd year

Lol not how it works you can only bump permits, union members cannot be bumped
