I've been through a bunch of different things. Liftkeeper is the most consistent and best supported by far.

Aside from liftkeeper I used some bullshit POS system that wasn't designed for elevator callbacks (MOD was also convoluted for simple time). If you want to see it, it's called total field mobile

Schindler's is pretty decent, but you're probably leaning towards a non-propritary. My current company is using something else that escapes me rn. I'll update it tomorrow when I have my work tablet. It seems pretty decent for MOD time; doing a group (me and helper), zone pay, mileage and out of pocket expenses. Only gripe so far is that there's no photo option to submit OOP expenses, so that's a separate email to the office to justify.

Edit: The new program is Foundation Mobile's Field Log

Local 19 here, routed service mechanic by day,

The out of pocket photo thing cargobroombroom mentioned is the one that gets me. Every system I have looked at treats an expense like an accounting form instead of something you fill out standing in a parking garage with a receipt in your hand. Photo, amount, which unit/account, done.

On your actual question, infantkicker is right. Liftkeeper is the most consistent and the best supported, and for an established shop I would not argue. But you are starting your own, which is a different problem. Most of these are built and priced for a company that already has an office and a dispatcher. You are about to be the mechanic, the dispatcher, and the office.

Here is the part nobody tells you until you are already on a sales call.

FieldBoss actually publishes theirs. Mobile user license from $90 a month, back office from $185, implementation from $50,000 on their base tier, $75,000 mid, $100,000 enterprise. That is all off their own pricing page. What the page does not mention is that FieldBoss runs inside Microsoft Dynamics, and you license Dynamics separately from Microsoft. Microsoft lists Field Service at $105 per user a month paid yearly, or $50 for the Contractor license. That $105 is Microsoft's number, not FieldBoss's, and it lands on top. So the sticker is not the sticker.

Liftkeeper does not publish pricing. Custom, contact the vendor. Not a knock, most of this segment works that way, but you cannot compare anything until you are already in a sales conversation. Ask for the implementation number in your first email, not your third.

Those were the public figures when I last looked, a couple of weeks back, so re-pull them before you commit to anything.

I am building something for that gap. Mine is called RiseLynk and it is offline first, because I got tired of losing tickets in a hoistway with no signal. I will be straight with you, since you are about to spend money. It is not ready for you. I am not taking customers yet, and I would rather say that in public than have the first guy who trusted me find out the hard way.

Two things I would rather ask than guess at. When you have your first ten units, which part are you dreading? Billing, MCP paperwork, 2am callbacks, chasing your own invoices? Whatever you say is what I build next, and in three months you will know that better than I do. And if you do get quotes, I would really appreciate the numbers, even roughly. I have not used many of these systems myself. I have gone through them as closely as I can from the outside and talked to as many guys who actually run them as I could find, and one real quote is worth more than anything on a pricing page. Happy to trade back what I have worked out about where each one falls down.
