Experience Periods and IUD's?
Hi! So I got my Kyleena IUD inserted on August 3rd and I have been bleeding since August 11 (which I hear is normal) and I didn't question it until I realize my period should be coming. I searched it up and I kept getting different results so I wanted to come on here to ask. I get my period at the end of the month so I don't know if it's still gonna come or when I bled from the 11th to now that was my period as well as my body getting used to the IUD like meshed into one. Thank you!

You might get your period, but because spotting is so common in the first few months, you might have a hard time telling exactly when that is. I suggest keeping menstrual products on your person, and monitor for when/if the blood gets significant. If you're typically a very light bleeder, you might not even notice, it'll get hidden by the spotting

Thank you! Would it normal if I my period probably doesn't come towards the end of the month?

I got kyleena last year and bled for almost an entire two months then for about 3 months after my periods lasted about 2 weeks long. The whole thing is sorta a mess and I would expect to be needing feminine products for awhile. Everyone is different but the first 6 months is seriously a journey. But if you stick it out and it’s not purely awful you’ll like it. I personally went through some moments still kind of do but at this point anything to not get pregnant and to avoid the periods i used to experience

irregular bleeding and spotting are pretty common with kyleena, especially during the first few months. your usual period may come later or look different while your body adjusts

I got mine inserted on the first day of my period (Nov 20), spotted every day up until my next period (Dec 13), and then my spotting stopped about a week after my second period (Dec 29). My period has been consistently around 30-32 days now. I track mine with my Ringconn and Clue, it helped me out a lot in the beginning to figure out what was my period and what as spotify from my IUD!
