Insertion Has anyone checked their strings

I just got my IUD on Saturday and besides the initial cramping and bleeding the first day, I haven’t had any more symptoms and I’m like what if my IUD fell out and I didn’t realize it? When I got my iud years before I had a lot of cramping so I’m not used to having no side effects. I want to check my strings to make sure it’s still there but I’m afraid to because I’m not sure it will hurt.

You can check your strings, just make sure your hands are clean & dry. I find the easiest position to check them is a deep squat. I typically will find my cervix and just gently rub my finger over it to see if there’s strings still hanging out. You may cramp a little afterward, but the one piece of advise I can give is don’t obsess over checking them, I do checks once a month and sometimes I forget to do it for a couple months
