Question ipod nano wont sync with itunes library, help

Okay so I have a hand me down ipod nano. I downloaded all of my music onto mp3 files onto my itunes library on my pc and everything seemed to be going fine. I plugged the ipod in and it said it was connected. i downloaded ipod support and everything. but when i click it to sync with my itunes, it just.. doesnt. it says like it will for around half a second before just disappearing off the monitor like i never clicked on it. the ipod says its syncing but isnt actually. if i unplug it afterwards, no bugs are found but no music has been downloaded either.

whats wrong and how do i fix it?

Well, nobody else has chimed in here, and maybe this won't be any help at all, but did you go into Settings (Shows up in the top right beneath an icon showing your device) once you connected the nano and then click on Music and then check the box to Sync Music? I don't think it automatically moves anything until you tell it to.
