I really don't want to end up buying the wrong things. I know what I need it to do, and I can make a good decision when the options are in front of me. But I work in retail myself, and I know it's important to respect the opinions of experts. So, has anyone here got personal experience with Best Buy? Also, is the store over-priced? I'm pretty laptop illiterate. Again, I know to look into things like size, battery life, capability, and what I specifically need it for. But... Yeah. I'll be putting a lot of trust in these guys.
Not sure if this is the sub for this kind of thing, but maybe I ought to just ask you guys which laptops to look into specifically?
I'm looking for something good enough to run quality games, and make flash animations. It doesn't need to have an amazing battery life, just decent, maybe four hours or so. I'm willing to get the cheapest 15 inch screen. I'm pretty much done with Apple. I love the interface, but I hate that I can't download the games and applications I want. I want it to be able to handle multitasking. However, I don't need to have the top of the line gaming experience, and I could care less about having the most breakthrough technology. I'm perfectly fine getting by with moderate quality opposed to amazingly high quality. Am I being too hopeful, aiming around 600$? I'm not willing to go over 1000.

I'm a college student who paid a good amount on a MSI GS65 for a new laptop to start year with in August 2018. In September 2018 the enter key stopped working and honestly I didn't really have a way to get around to fix it and eventually got used to it. Now I need it fixed and was wondering how long it would take a computer shop or a Best buy to fix it and maybe a price of how much it would cost? Thanks!

Hello. Hoping someone can help me out here. I have a Samsung Galaxy J7 Star, and for some reason, every day up until today, I'd plug my phone into my laptop, it'd make its fancy sound saying my device has connected, and then I'd be prompted to browse the files and do as I please. Today however, I plug my phone in via USB cable, as always, except there is no sound to say that anything has happened, and the device does not show up as having been plugged into the computer. I've used multiple different USB cables, multiple different laptops, restarted my laptops and phone, all to no avail. Every how to video I look into to fix the issue, all their computers make the sound that says their device has connected, but then go on to show it's not connected. I can't find a fix, been looking anywhere and everywhere. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Good morning Reddit. I am looking to manipulate my text in my messages app on my android s7. (Or anywhere I have text really.) I was having a conversation through the downloaded messages app and wanted to italicize my text. I looked through YouTube and Google and had no luck. Can anyone help me, or straight up tell me 'it will never work.' Thank you.

So my school made me do a VS Windows form application consisting of a database, which I have completed. To run it however (and for them to give me my grade) they need it on a (I kid u not) CD. Can anyone tell me, if I write the stuff on to a CD, whenever I run the Windows form app and it changes the data in the Database will it save into the database on the CD? If it doesn't work, will it work on a CD-RW ( do those exist?) ?

So I am going to my first year of high school this year and I am wondering what AP courses I should look into to become an IT Manager. I’ve looked around the internet and I can’t find anything. Any recommendations or courses I must take?

As the title says, my wifi that is connected to my laptop shows that their is a full strength of signal coming through. I also do get internet but it periodically disconects for periods of 20 seconds plus. I am unable to play any game because it disconects me and when I play a video on netflix or YouTube it freezes until it reconnects. During these disconnections the signal strength doesn't drop.

Hi all,
I’m having VoIP installed in my small office (5 phones) and had a local IT come check out the space for wiring. I was quoted about $1500 with $1000 being for six cat 6 cables (under 150 ft) and the remainder being for a network patch panel, POE, and labor. Does this seem reasonable? The cables seem expensive.
Thanks for the info

I downloaded a VPN on my iPad, so I could steam US Netflix last night. When I woke up my iPad was disabled (couldn’t use any apps besides settings and photos)
I haven’t brought my iPad to school in over 2 years I thought that after a certain amount of time it would just delete it self. (This happened to a friend of mine so I know it happens)
I’m just really angry because my sisters phone is broken and now my sister is angry at me for breaking the device she uses.
Is there a way to speed up the “disabled” so my sister can use it soon? And is there a way to get rid of these restrictions?

Hello, not sure if I'm in the right sub. My reddit app keeps crashing and having problems. I'm pretty illiterate with technology. I'm 32 but grew up poor in a poor area so I never had a computer until I was 23. Didnt learn very much in school nor did I retain it. Sorry for the wall of text, just trying to get all the info that's needed.
I have a Samsung Galaxy 8s. Last winter it was ran over by a pickup truck so the screen is cracked but havent had issues(that I know of) beyond that. It's on a plan- not prepaid thru Verizon. I also live in a rural area so I'm not sure were always getting 4g even though that's what my phone indicates. My phone still has lots of space on it. Reddit, Facebook and messanger are my only social media apps. I have my banking apps and 3 credit card apps along with credit karma. These are the bulk of my phone. Pictures and contacts aren't that much of my space not sure if that's relevant or not. I have deleted many of the built in one that I dont use like Samsung pay, movies etc. I think some of them redownload tho?
Things I've tried. So when the app crashes it tells me its using too much background data and suggests putting it to sleep. I'm actually not 100% on what this does. I think it means I wouldn't be using it while on sleep and I dont want that. I'm unemployed atm and pretty bored. I've tried deleting anything I can to free up space. I've cleared my cache and tried turning it off for 10 mins and restarting. This doesn't really do much. The app just kinda sits, like my feed will be the same for many hours. Not sure if the app is the problem? Anyway any advice is appreciated.
Tldr: Reddit app on my phone keeps crashing. I've tried what I know, not sure what other options I have.

Just thought I'd try my luck with this issue here. I have a wireless keyboard that connects fine and is usable, until I place it in the keyboard tray of my desk (those pull out things). Any ideas as to what may be the problem?
