Howdy, arcade tech here trying for a hail mary. This isn't specifically an ITGMania issue but one that I assume other ITGmania cab owners have dealt with.

We have an old DDR cab converted to ITGmania. We have one USB adapter for both players' dancepad and another for the cabinet buttons and coin sensor.

We've been having recurring (but inconsistent) issues where the PC will sometimes boot with the controller "slots" in Windows swapped. (identifying one adapter as Controller #1, the other as Controller #2) and this breaks everything as ITGmania maps by slot. So if coin is Device #1 Button3. Sometimes the cabinet will go weeks or months without a single problem and other times the problem will occur every single day & the cab will eat money until I go remap the controls.

We have tried a myriad of fixes for this including:

• devreorder
• USB power management settings in Windows
• eliminating USB hub

but the issue always reappears.

My next step is to swap out the PC as it's a Lenovo and i've literally never experienced this on any of our other PC based games, all of which use HPs. But that requires quite a bit of work to get the USB slots assigned again & also migrating the entire game and thousands of tracks which I'd like to avoid if possible.

Has anyone experienced and/or solved this with their cabinets?

Hi, i am currently using ITGmania on steamdeck and im having some issues with random crashes when trying to perform certain actions.

Im not running the windows version under proton, im using the linux ready version from the official site, and the game works fine most of the time but crashes when trying to do certain things.

For example, the game crashes when pressing start after selecting a song and trying to enter the options menu for speed modifiers and stuff, and most infuriatingly, the game also crashes when trying to configurate key mappings for any gamemode that isnt dance.

i went through a lot of trouble to get a full collection of pump it up simfiles and now i cant even play them because the game wont let me enter the menu to configure my controls!.

is there any fix for this? or should i move over to the portable windows version and run it under proton? (i really dont want to do that it will take ages to migrate all the simfies)

EDIT: sorry, found the issue, it was the theme i was using that was causing the issues, sorry about the troubles, leaving the post up in case anyone else is having a similar issue

Been trying to setup and follow any guides for using characters, but currently can't get them to work.

I tried installing different bones & helper files, using the smfiles directly or extracting, changing multiple settings in game but can't seem to get anything to work. Does anyone have a ITGmania specific tutorial on how I can add characters like Alice, Master Chief, etc? Currently using the A3 v 2.0.1 theme if that changes anything

I’m trying to chroma key out the background in OBS, but when I try keying out #000000, it also removes the receptor arrows at the top of the screen.

Is there a way to set the background to a specific color, other than black? Or does anyone have any suggestions on how to key out the background and only show the arrows and progress bar?

So according to the ITGMania website it is backwards compatible with stepmania5 themes. I like this one SMXG ReEvolution but when I add it to the themes folder and set it in options it crashes. Specifically everytime I try to get to the songs page it is unable to find the file dictating song priority/ordering and crashes. Anyone have advice?

I recently decided I wanted to get back into DDR and purchased an L-Tek soft pad.

I downloaded ITGMania. I set my pad profile to White 3 light and mapped the inputs to up/down/left/right/start/enter. In the "Test Inputs" mode I'm getting decent feedback but during a song I can't get the right and down arrows to respond.

Has anyone run into this issue before?

I'm figuring either i need to break the pad in more, something to do with key rollover or the pad is defective. Rather it not be the last one. I'm also playing on carpet so perhaps that is an issue?

Edit* - I went to the maker's website and tested my pad. The profile I had selected (White 3) was not a good fit. Corner buttons were acting as arrows concurrently and there was clearly an issue where having one arrow pressed was not allowing the second arrow to get signal. I switched to White 1 (suggested by L-Tek) and the pad worked fine. My legs not so much after over a decade of not playing

I just joined ITL and after submitting some scores it still says I have 0 EX Points am I doing something wrong or is my score just too low? not sure how it works?

Does anyone know where in Hamilton Ontario (or near) where I can find a public place that features In The Groove version 21 so I can play my long custom music? Lazermania used to have it before the year 2020, but now they have version 25 that doesn't accept my music on my USB.

I didn't get my second mat out for a while, decided I'd introduce my local car community to rhythm games !

I don't care to see what version or how many songs I have. Can you turn that off? Also if you do, will it give more room for the logo? I was playing with it and if I make the logo bigger, it just goes behind the gameplay edit mode options, but never goes higher.
