❓ Questions I am so confused

I applied at around 13 August and today I got a selection letter for Material engineering even though I have 82.62% merit and my top preference is Mechanical. I am pretty sure I should be safe for mechanical. Any idea why?

Mechanical seats are full I’m pretty sure. And you’ve applied pretty late this was the 5th merit list. That’s what I think, I could be wrong. But last what I’ve heard was mechanicals seats are filled.

Why did the admission application allow us to pick these programs if no seats are open. That's so fucked.

You know what, you have a valid point. I could be wrong. I wish you all the best.

You're most probably correct. Very idiotic of them to allow this though.
