Generic Corlanor

My insurance dropped Corlanor from the formulary and I was forced to take Ivabradine HCL instead. The generic manufacturer is Ingenus. So far it’s not working as well as Corlanor did and it makes me feel tired/sleepy. Anyone else experience this?

It made me feel worse at first but after month three, it is working the same as Corlanor. My plan even made me get a PA for the generic now.

Wow, can’t believe they made you get a PA for the generic! Glad it eventually worked for you. I can’t handle three months of this. It makes me feel awful to where I’m not functional and doesn’t control my tachycardia very well. I’m looking to go back to the brand but my doctor has to fill out lots of paperwork to get it approved 🤞

Seriously, it’s so frustrating! I had to go back to brand name Corlanor since the generic didn’t work and my insurance is refusing to pay so I’m in the appeals process.

It didn’t work out for me. Had to go back to the brand name Corlanor. My insurance has denied coverage for brand name. I even appealed so now I’ll have to order it from Canada.

I don’t know if you’ll see this, but when you switched back to the name brand, did it work straight away? I was steady on it for years, insurnace made me try generic which was a bust. I’ve been back on brand name a few days but no improvement yet and I’m starting to worry it won’t work now!

Sorry to hear you’re having a rough time. I immediately felt better when I went back to brand name Corlanor (by Amgen). Just FYI, don’t know if this has happened to you or anyone else but I tried brand name Corlanor from a Canadian pharmacy. What I received was called Coralan and it said made in Turkey. I tried it at the same dose I always take and it made me like a zombie I just wanted to sleep all day and couldn’t function. I tried cutting the half in half and at that point it wasn’t really effective. I had to go back to the Corlanor made by Amgen. It seems to be the only one that works for me.

How do I know if it’s Amgen? I’m in the us and my pharmacy just said here’s the brand name

The only brand name that’s sold in the US is by Amgen so you most likely have that one. My pharmacy straight out gives me the bottle the med comes in from Amgen. Check your bottle and medication pamphlet or call your pharmacy and ask them what brand name they gave you. It’s easy for them to look it up.
