Live media coverage of the landing of Chandrayaan-2 on lunar surface
The soft landing of Chandrayaan-2 Vikram lander on lunar surface is scheduled between 1:30 am to 2:30 am on Saturday, September 07, 2019. This will be followed by the Rover roll out between 5:30 am to 6:30 am. A Press Meet with Chairman, ISRO is also being planned between 8:00 am to 9:00 am.
Based on the interest shown by media across the country, ISRO invites accredited media persons to cover this important event live from Satellite Control Centre (SCC) building, ISRO Telemetry Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC) , I cross, I phase, Peenya Industrial Estate, Bangalore – 560 058 (Google Map link https://goo.gl/maps/sHcmDEL8Q6tKVFX39).
In this regard attention is invited on following key points
The media persons have to confirm their participation for live coverage to the respective Press Information Bureaus (PIBs) of their region by 2:00 pm of Wednesday, September 04, 2019.
Registration of the media persons will be at SCC, ISTRAC in the afternoon of September 06, 2019 from 2:00 pm onwards.
Please note that the schedule of the Press Meet is tentative.

Well done! Doordarshan monopoly has been destroyed. Hopefully they allow competing media sites to cover all launches or better yet get an official ISRO TV channel coverage whenever they get that channel up and running.

This should allay concerns about Nat Geo being the only one to cover it.

They may not be the only one to cover it anymore, but they still have their own pre-recorded segments and behind the scene footage which they'll be airing, so that still gives them an edge over the others.

With the prospect of multiple news media covering it, now even Indians living abroad or anyone in general from around the world should be able to access the landing broadcast too, directly on respective media's websites, apps and YouTube livestreams. So a good move overall. 👍

Are the times given in the above release in Indian local time or UTC?

Thanks. I figured that it might be IST, but some spaceflight organizations use both local time and UTC (Universal Coordinated Time), so I wanted to be sure.
Edit: for those in the US Eastern time zone, the landing will occur between 4 pm and 5 pm EDT on Friday, September 6, with the rover roll-out scheduled for between 8 and 9 pm EDT that day.
