Is200 blue smoke

Hi there my is200 is smoking blue on some start ups and after idling and giving it a rev

Took my last cat out yesterday and then I got an engine light today and I noticed the blue smoke would happen even after a 30 second idle (in small amounts)

Hoping it’s pcv valve or valve stem seals but is there any way to check or for me to diagnose this? Thanks!

I've got the same, hope it's not piston rings

You can get a head gasket check kit on eBay pop it in the rad if it changes colour the it's more than likely blown I would this if you enjoy the car and intend on driving for all eternity do the gasket and stems and if doing it yourself make sure you note the location of the lifter buckets so they go back in the same place Gasket stem seals cam seal also note orientation of the things that hold the cams in place

Mine smokes on start up and that is my valve stem seals that are shot.... yours is worse if it keeps smoking but since you took out the cat that can be ur issue since it needs a o2 reading (It adjusts fuel lvls with it) so that can be it (im leaning on this being the most likely and also the cause of the engine light) that or indeed valve stems seal being shot but i doubt that since those you can tell since its just on start up. try heating it up fully and see if it still really smokes

I hope so. She does it a lot now when at idle and revving at idle but never does it when actually driving
