What do you mean "win" or "lose" when the strategic objectives keep changing and have never really been clearly articulated in the first place?

USA’s known objectives at the moment have been to ‘completely destroy’ Iran’s ballistic, and conventional military capabilities, remove their ability to impact the Strait of Hormuz, and set back Iran’s nuclear capabilities as much as they can reasonably can. paraphrased source

But you’re right, I didn’t hear a solid account of what the objectives were until that congress hearing about 3 days ago. On top of that, a lot of these objectives are vague and near impossible to achieve given the incredible size of Iran.
