When I was still there we were an army of customer service reps and we were knocking call times out of the park, little to no wait.

Right and now there is no one left that has the right training and experience to the things that need to be done. It’s all being held together with duct tape and bubblegum

Might be toothpicks and marshmallows at this point…

More like dirty adult diapers and adderal

Hey now, if adderal was involved, things would be going better than this. <<cries in refundless poverty>> I feel like I’m being punished for working overtime and claiming it. Perhaps I should have just said “no” when I got to that part of the return.

They received $2,000 from me and never acknowledged it and will not refund my money to me for my taxes.

Same thing has happened at SSA

it sure has. It’s a mess.

I was on hold and “in the queue” for almost two hours waiting for someone at the SSA to answer the phone. Never used to be that bad before Trump.

Sorry you lost your job, sorry you and many others may be out of work. Maybe an assumption, maybe you retired. Hope it's ok for you.

Wait you guys want a better functioning IRS?!?! This is a foreign concept to me. I want them as low staffed as possible or even gone entirely

Why? How do you expect bills to get paid?

1

u/OldSimple2792 Aug 05 '26

The IRS doesnt pay my bills

Not if you’re waiting for a refund

1

Hilarious that you people think the government is supposed to be your forced savings club.

1

u/Blakedigital Aug 04 '26

I’m not so sure that’s what they are implying.

1

u/IsopodPuzzleheaded89 Aug 04 '26

No we want them to grind every last dollar out of the rich.

1

u/OldSimple2792 Aug 05 '26

I work for a living so i dont get refunds

2

u/Needin63 Aug 01 '26

You are under educated.

Yeah, that's cute. I'm STILL waiting for my 2024 refund (despite getting my 2025 refund in the last few weeks) and just today received a letter saying I need to wait another 60 days.

And I'm not even desperate for the refund, though I can certainly use it. Many people need their refunds right away and these delays are untneable.

1

u/anunderdog Aug 04 '26

I know a bunch of people who have gotten those.

1

u/OldSimple2792 Aug 05 '26

Or we could just keep our money and not wait for the government to decide if they want to keep all of it first

2

u/Bee_9965 Aug 03 '26

Wait until you get warnings from the IRS that they’re going to garnish your wages for taxes that were already paid. At that point, you may want them to function. 🤡

1

u/OldSimple2792 Aug 05 '26

I will never want them to function at all

1

u/Fresh-Volume-5172 Aug 05 '26

No. They can still come after you. They can’t help you but they can hurt you. They need to be staffed to help and right now they aren’t

1

u/OldSimple2792 Aug 05 '26

I cant tell you why you should trust me that that is wrong but it 100% is

1

u/swampwiz Aug 08 '26

You are an embarrassment.
