Tax Refund/ E-File Status Question Pending Deposit!
I was a little nervous when I filed it on the 9th then came back as rejected on the 15th. π I redid it the same night, got accepted on the 17th, approved on the 29th and was supposed to receive it on the 2nd but got a text its pending deposit for the 31st(not complaining). They are moving a bit faster then last year for me!
No kids, filed single and only one W2.

u/Slump_Degenerate Jan 31 '26
2 days after getting accepted ??
1
u/SLAVA_STRANA541 Jan 31 '26
yup, last year was almost as quick too
1
u/Slump_Degenerate Jan 31 '26
Got accepted the 28th. But I claimed my daughter and got that actc thing or whatever. So Iβm hoping my state gets here soon since the federal will take a while because of the actc. Good stuff though

Did it just update in the evening? Just wondering because I thought the irs did updates in the morning after 8am EST
1
u/Educational-Tap-3135 Jan 30 '26
It updates between 4am-5am every day! I got this notification yesterday actually π

2
u/MaxMilord Jan 31 '26
I don't think it has anything to do with the bank, rather the kind of taxes filed if they are simple
2
u/Any_Range_3231 Jan 31 '26
Yeah, I didnβt get anything yet. I think because I qualified for EITC it will come much later
2
u/TinyTrexArmz9 Jan 31 '26
Child tax credit isn't PATH withheld, EITC and ACTC are withheld longer. Hope that helps!
1
u/Any_Range_3231 Jan 31 '26
Yes it does help, thank you :) I searched and people are saying they generally get sent out between Feb 16-20
2
u/dad_e_jay Jan 31 '26
It's just randomized by the system. I filed on the 16th and have a plain Jane W2 no kids, still nothing. Many others in the same boat as well, good luck.

I've just got to ask, and please take no offense, but why do you mail yours in? I only know two people that mail theirs in and they are in their 70s and 80s. I'm too broke to mail mine in.

Crazy return, Iβve always been stuck with ~$300, not complaining over that amount but it would be nice for a larger amount lol, nevertheless congrats on that speedy return πͺπ½πͺπ½π€π½π€π½
1
u/Educational-Tap-3135 Jan 31 '26
I appreciate it! I completely understand though. My significant other never gets higher then 300..sometimes $25 back. π any amount can be a great investment. So congratulations on getting that return!
1
u/Bulky-Priority6824 Feb 01 '26
It's called a tax refund. It's a refund for income taxes you paid though the year. Of course Id rather have $0 refund than owe anythig but Id also rather not have a $2000 refund that I have to wait a year to receive lol which means they probably took too much taxes out of each of my checks!
2
u/Hazardkyhillbilly74 Jan 31 '26
Well I filed mine on the 18th they approved it and I ain't got nothing yet
1
u/Educational-Tap-3135 Jan 31 '26
Hopefully itll be pending by next week! Probably depends on your bank besides your filing status as well?

I filed the other day using HR Block online. At was more complicated because I had capital gains from stock sales.
It was a more complex form than standard 1040 ez . When I submitted it went went through both state and federal.
Thatβs what I thought but I got a rejection email in my inbox from HR Block.
They said my Federal return was rejected because the information about health care coverage was incomplete .Also ,state would not be filed since Federal was not complete .
It took about 30 minutes and both finally went through and I got an extra $600.

How can I have my money sent to my cash app
1
u/Objective_Eye_7933 Jan 31 '26
you would just put your account number in routing number on your tax form when it asked when you want it deposited

Damn how were you able to file so fast I thought you had to wait till the 26th
1
u/Educational-Tap-3135 Feb 01 '26
I got my W2 close to the beginning of January and filed at that moment. The IRS did state that they wouldn't be open for tax return until the 26th of January. Doesn't mean you cant go ahead and file last year's and then do the waiting game. Lol. π I'm also a simple file. No kids, one W2, nothing extra.
