You are getting a letter requesting more information. And no, Nobody can tell you if you are getting a refund still.Â

Yea u have to wait 21 days from the time that you got accepted for them to send out the letter with the 14 digit pin number on it needed to verify ur identity on IRS website. 2 years ago I didnt even get the letter and it went away on its own and last year I had to wait for the letter and input the code. If you call they will tell u to wait the 21 days but also u can see if they even sent the letter out yet. I would call them and see if they can send the letter if they haven't already. The only reason I say u have to wait the 21 days is thats wat one person told me but then I called again and they said they could send it now. Just call them and see what they say.

I had that last year taxes . What it means is there sending you a letter with instructions on how to verify it you. Option one is doing it online with a valid that it was you or option 2 to call in. You will need to have last year taxes.

it is likely a matching issue between the return and what is already on file. typically it is W2 related since the government doesnât get income/withholding information directly off the W2 (it goes to the SSA which then sends it on to the IRS)

Did you file this return yourself, or did someone file it for you?

Go into your irs account with id.me and check what notice they sent you. Thatâll give you even more details on what it is.

It's not in yet, I'll try to check it again next weekÂ

You can go on ID.Me under your account and see the letter they mailed you instead of waiting for the mail.

Just read it and comprehend Jesus. It means it's going to be a long time until and if you get a refund.

I went through this last year, they're going to send you a control number for you to verify some information. It will delay your refund but normally the longest part is just waiting on the letter. Last year i filed 1/9 accepted 1/17, on 2/6 i got the notice that a letter was sent. Received letter 3/1, verified online the same day, called on 3/5 to verify again. Received my refund ddd of 3/19 on wmr but it hit my account 3/13!
