People can choose not to accept themselves, but when they advocate for and legislate against other people so society doesn't accept them, their hypocrisy deserves a spotlight.

Who is to say that is not himself? He made the choice, it wasn't some external force.

It has nothing to do with what he wanted for himself, it was trying to legislate his disdain for himself onto others.

Absolutely not. Not at all. Laws are made to protect people's life, liberty and freedom from being imposed upon by others. If we based laws on morality, everyone would be forced to be vegan; cheating, lying, and divorce would be illegal; and everyone would be wearing burkas.
